Here is my 556 Patrol SWAT with a Troy rail and Troy Battle sights (which came in super handy at training this past Thursday when my IOR RDS failed mid drill). Planning to ad a Magpul UBR to it with the Double Diamond adapter. These are Before and After my "Camo by Krylon" paint job. Saving up for an optic now.

Lineman, while I think your reaction is a little strong, I cannot help but feel dismay and exasperation that poor quality accessories are already finding their way onto SIG rifles. That is what doomed the AK...you are quite correct about that. Let us hope that the price of the SIG rifles keeps it out of the hands of the Mattell crowd.

SIG 556 Patrol with Aimpoint Patrol Rifle Optic, Magpul RVG, Viking Tactics Offset Flashlight Mount, Surefire 6PLED, TSD Combat Mags with Lancer Mag Coupler, OST Sig 556 Sling, and the new Surefire SF3P-556-1/2-28 Flash Hider on the way. Only thing missing I can think of after that is a pair of Samson or Midwest flip up sights and its 100% done. Smoothest shooting gun I own by far.

This rifle is remarkably accurate. Unbelievable trigger.

If you could only take one?

I like easy questions like that.

How did you get the Troy Battle Rail to fit? I contacted Troy and they said that they would not fit on a SIG 556R.

The only thing I can guess is that maybe the old 556R is somehow different. Maybe it doesn't fit on that one.

It sure fits on this one.

I simply took it out of the box and put it on the rifle.

So it isn't a 556, but it is a SIG

Wife with her new SIG 516 straight from OST. It won't be "finished" until the ACOG comes off back order
