Hamilton Khaki Pioneer, I've been looking at Hamiltons for a little while, and she picked this one for me! I was a bit surprised to find out that Hamiltons are now "Swiss" watches, I thought they were USA made?

Probably not one of the more "tough" things that could be talked about, but I enjoy technology and figured a nice tablet would be a fun luxury item. So does anyone have any opinions on any of them. Iam partial to the IPads, I am familiar with their interface and they just always seem to work. What about you guys?

I would like to start predator hunting in an area where I will not be allowed to kill anything, I will be stuck in this location for a number of months. My solution is a camera with a telephoto zoom, a pair of binos and a predator call. Ill have my bear gun with me but for liability reasons they prefer it not to be used for "target practice" but self defense is ok. At any rate, lets discuss some options and necessary parameters here so i can better decide which camera to use to capture these predators with.

Interchangeable lenses with telephoto zoom... is a must
reasonably priced...if i had thousands of dollars to spend on a camera i wouldn't get a job in the middle of nowhere at a luxury fishing resort (Id be there as a guest)
lets try to keep size and weight to a minimum...this will also serve as my edc camera as well.

I have my eyes on the pentax Q10 as a good enough kind of camera

What kind of cameras do you guys enjoy using...I bet some of you got some nice set ups out there.

I appreciate the help.

Attachment 30944 (http://www.warriortalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=30944)
Chef Challenge At The Taipan's
(aka Chop my plate and I'll shoot you in the face)

4 cups cola, preferably made with cane sugar
2 teaspoons jarred Thai green curry paste
2 Fresno chiles or jalapeños, thinly sliced crosswise
One 1 1/2-pound flank steak, cut lengthwise and crosswise to make 4 steaks
1 tablespoon canola oil, plus more for brushing
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
One 16-ounce jar salsa verde
8 ounces Fritos
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
2 Hass avocados, diced
3 tablespoons freshly grated Cotija cheese
Lime wedges, for serving

1. In a 9-by-13-inch glass or ceramic baking dish, whisk the cola with the green curry paste and sliced Fresno chiles. Add the flank steaks and turn to coat thoroughly. Let the steaks stand at room temperature for 15 minutes, turning occasionally.

2. Light a grill or preheat a grill pan and oil the grate. Remove the flank steaks from the marinade and pat them dry. Brush the steaks with canola oil and season generously with salt and pepper. Grill over moderately high heat, turning once, until the steaks are medium-rare, about 8 minutes total. Transfer the steaks to a work surface and let rest for 10 minutes.

3. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat the 1 tablespoon of canola oil. Add the salsa verde and bring to a simmer. Cook over moderate heat, stirring, until slightly reduced and thickened, about 4 minutes. Add the Fritos to the salsa and cook, stirring, until the chips are soft with some crunchy bits but not falling apart, about 2 minutes. Stir in 1/4 cup of the cilantro and transfer the chilaquiles to a platter.

4. Thinly slice the steaks across the grain. Top the chilaquiles with the sliced steak and any accumulated meat juices. Scatter the avocados, Cotija cheese and remaining 1/4 cup of cilantro on top and serve immediately with lime wedges.

I have a tendency to use all my kit pretty heavily, and after getting the new iphone 5 I wanted a case that would both protect the case and have some style. My search for a great case (not waterproof) led me to element cases and Ive gotta say I love the look of these. Made in the USA CNC aluminum and g-10. If you can appreciate a good pocketknife (and who on the bon vivant warrior cant) you should appreciate these equally well. Prices are about what you would pay for a good folder (150-225)

Graduations - Warriors Refining Their Academic Skills

Many young Warriors are graduating this month, how about telling your story? Academic skills are essential to living the good life. The ability to think, organize your thoughts, write, speak in public and apply your knowledge and training to earning a living is a critical skill.

As our society continues to embrace mediocrity and reward sloth, those who have kicked ass and taken names in the classroom should be recognized.

My son just earned his BS in business. He graduated on Saturday and starts work Monday with a Fortune 500 company. He landed the job by gaining the reputation as someone with integrity who shows up early, leaves late and is a self starter who gets things done in between.

A professor who noticed his drive got him an internship that turned into an amazing opportunity.

We trained him to write well early in his academic career, and did impromptu speeches within our home (including mom and dad) in order to develop a comfort with public speaking. The idea was to get our kids orgsnizing their thoughts and conveying them in front of a few people at a relatively young age, but not demanding perfection- that comes with time at the podium.

It seemed to pay huge dividends.

Congratulations to all you who graduated, tell us how and what got you through and where you are going.

Wasn't sure at first whether to post this in "Open Source Roundtable" or in this Forum, but seeing how I now have more $$ to put into the Bon Vivant lifestyle, here goes.....

Major milestone achieved: 16 years to that day after I graduated from college, I've FINALLY paid off the last of my school loans (my Stafford Loan). Good riddance, school loan debt, you served your purpose back in the day, for which I'm forever grateful, but you've long since worn out your welcome by being a drag on my disposable income, so don't let the door you in the arse on the way out!!! Fight On!!!

This is just my fantasy list. Its not complete, nor do I expect I'll ever complete the list (in wants or actually gets...); but it was fun passing the time:

In no particular order:

I want a armored Scout Car. Nothing big; but big enough for a couple of friends, maybe something like a V100 Commando
Image: http://www.warwheels.net/images/xm706e1WISE1.bmp

Id also like a Nebelwerfer. I dont have a real good reason, just that it would be cool. I suppose I could live with smoke rounds; but if youre gonna go-GO BIG so HE would be best

I always wanted a Gatling. One in 45-70 would be OK; and sure who wouldnt like a a GE Minigun; but if you really wanna make me happy Im thinking a Hotchkiss Revolving Cannon
Image: http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4060/4582074573_190088722e_z.jpg

All the flying car talk has me wanting a Gyrocopter; but not just any gyro, Lil' Nellie if you please--and no skimping on the accessories
Image: http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6067/6128867005_5db62a001b_z.jpg

Awhile I had an urge for something like a convertible, this would be nice. You cant say its not practical--lok theres even room for the kids

What else???

Terrafugia figures it’ll be 8 to 10 years before the TF-X makes it from the drawing board to the skies, and even the Transition is still a couple of years away from entering production. The company is aiming to start delivering the $279,000 vehicles in early 2015
