Second Time with a RMR Glock!

Well thanks goes out to Tom at OST, he was on the spot getting this out to me so I would have it in time for a upcoming class I am taking this weekend. Great to talk with over the phone and E-mail.

Image: http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu98/skdmrklcy/IMGP3193.jpg
Image: http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu98/skdmrklcy/IMGP3199.jpg

(Competition Gear, Carry Gear should be here today or tomorrow.)

One of what was this months Special run Tier 1 models with an RM 02 and Melonite Finish. I took it out to sight it in and it ran great, really going to have to work on the target focus thing to avoid chasing the dot... but when you do it works great. Had a few failure to go into battery issues but a little FP 10 on the rear of the slide rails and it ran fine after that. Put about 200~250 downrange, toward the end I really started to get it figured out.

Running a 1k round class this weekend so it will be a good challenge for it.

This is not my first RMR Model, but my last was a Gen 4 with the smaller adjustable dot. I did not care for it at all, maybe it was the Gen 4 frame... maybe the adjustable dot.. I am already liking this one better.

Also love the finish, I have had a 1911 with the same finish and it is tough as nails hard, not to mention the corrosion resistance it does for the metal.

Pic of the Old one just cause pics are cool:

My wife and I took the Close Range Gunfighting class, taught by Ryan Acuff of SI, in Cookeville TN last weekend. Two days of instruction with plenty of trigger time. Started out Saturday in the classroom with a few of hours of lecture followed by a safety briefing and then to the range for the remainder of the day. Sunday was a full day on the range with numerous drills and detailed instruction. The number of students (9) made the class all the more better. We all seemed to mesh well and it allowed time for some one-on-one instruction for some students in addition to the group drills. Ryan was extremely helpful, patient, professional and demonstrated a high level of knowledge and expertise in his skills. To those at the top of the food-chain at SI, your instructor represented your company well! This was my first class through SI (my wife's second) but definitely not the last! Kudos Ryan!!!! What is the general consensus of Golden Tiger here for bulk purchases? Accuracy and reliability in terms of grouping? I've heard that the rounds were at one time lacquer sealed; are they still?

I don't expect Hornady level quality, but in terms of training ammo with limited fliers how does it stack up?

I stopped by High Standard/Interarms last week hoping to score a few extra mags for my Polish Tantal...I have plenty of mags but more is always better...and the owner, Allyn, said they are having to wait on mags before they can ship out weapons. He said they have 18 Tantals ready to ship but they can't send them out yet because of the mag shortage:dunno::cursing:. Keep in mind this is a major manufacturer and THEY can't find reasonably priced mags. They only ship one mag per Tantal so times are tough for every level of the AK74 mag game.

I have mentioned this before but if you are looking for a reasonably-priced AK, they have a decent selection and they stand behind their products. (I have no financial interest in Interarms, I've just used their rifles, as well as seen their facilities and customer service first-hand.) The weapons won't be of the same quality as what Gabe puts out but they are reliable rifles. The plant is here in Houston so I swing by every few months to see what is the latest and greatest. Most of the gunsmiths Allyn employs have been with the company for 15+ years. They are a solid choice for an AK in their price range.

Friend of mine owns a gun store and a customer consigned a pretty nice ?pre-ban? carbine.

It's marked with both Action Arms and IMI stamps and the serial number is SA10022. Gun looks like it was fired a few times and put away for a lot of years. Barrel looks just fine but needs a cleaning.

The consignee is hoping to get $1500. It may have that much value but probably not to me. I can do just fine with an OST Uzi for less money.

But - does it have value to a collector that I'm not seeing?
