It's the same author who wrote the Tarzan novels.
Here's a couple of his Pellucidar novels for free online. Explorers going to the Earth's core, fighting dinosaurs, waging insurgency against evolved rhamphorhynchus overlords and their ape-like shock troops, and all kinds of cool exploits.

I read all of my uncle's "John Carter of Mars" paperbacks as a kid. I'm glad to see someone's finally making it into a movie (http://disney.go.com/johncarter/). I'd love to have those books now...like I wish I'd saved all my original Destroyer/Remo Williams books. Can't find them at anything resembling an affordable price.

Hey GM,
E.R.B.'s books are now public domain. I downloaded all of them for free. Try Amazon or Itunes.

The John Carter books are back in print, my kids and I are waiting for #3 to be released! When you consider when they were written, it is really cool to see how prescient ERB was with his technology.

I read several of Burrough's books when I was a teenager, and really liked them.

The dust cover artwork of Adventure/Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Western fiction was frequently equal, if not superior to the story themselves.

 Word on those modern day flaming vampire shows. The only thing they suck is *****.
The artwork for these novels were definitely classics unto themselves.

Too bad RKO Radio/ Willis O'Brien never made any films based on his novels.

The Caspak Trilogy is awesome. Think 'The Land that Time Forgot'.

I never had before, but always meant to. Now I've started working my way through the Barsoom series, so I can nitpick the movie when it comes out.
