--Hey Gabe (or anybody else familiar with Espana),

I might be going to Murcia for a weeklong Ship's Security Officer course the first week of November. But I don't figure on the trip being all business, hence my decision to post this thread under the Warrior Bon Vivant Forum.

I'm 1/4 Spaniard from my Mom's side (her maiden name is Pinon), so I figure visiting the country for the first time will be a bit of an ancestral pilgrimmage. :veryhappy:

With that in mind, what do you recommend in the way of restaurants and other places of interest in Murcia, or in nearby San Javier, for that matter?

Thanks in advance for pointers.

P.S. I reckon being 25% Spaniard qualifies me for "Latin lover" status, eh? :inlove:

From the short time I spent in spain, the thing I miss most about it are 1) the rabbit and 2) the iberian ham.

Well, shit, now it looks like the Muslim Brotherhood hadjis have thrown a wrench in my trip plans, at least the business side of it:

Well, in the spirit of the Warrior Bon Vivant, I'm still going to do my damndest to enjoy the touristy aspects of the trip, assuming <knock on wood> that my prospective employer will still provide the training and foot the bill for the flight from the UK to Spain, Egyptian political machinations notwithstanding.
