Does anybody here know anything about these guys, good, bad, or indifferent? Looks like they're hiring for ship security (anti-pirate duty, aaaarrr, matey) in Spain:

Thanks in advance for any perspectives anybody has on this company.

Never heard of them. I have however carried out years worth of projects with Hart Security, Saladin Security, G4S Security etc... All English companies that offer VERY credible service of that ilk. However, they almost exclusivly draw employees from former SAS/US Special ops, Brit and US intel agencies. Every then and again I see some South Af and Kiwis around though.

Thanks for the feedback, Fulanito. FYI, CP and Martime is actually registered in the Seychelles, even though they have "UK" in their name.

I think perhaps Gabe's primary experience is in Almeria, Spain. Not far from where you may visit but right on the Med. Sea. I have been to Almeria and Valencia (which bookend your planned travel). Both are places I love.

Yeah that works well especially for UK companies that go off=shore. This way they avoid giving away 40% of their profits...AND get to work with a more pliable legal schematic. Many UK "based" Security Companies also have moved to Guernsey for the same reasons.

Well, shit, now it looks like the Muslim Brotherhood hadjis have thrown a wrench in my trip plans, at least the business side of it:

Well, in the spirit of the Warrior Bon Vivant, I'm still going to do my damndest to enjoy the touristy aspects of the trip, assuming <knock on wood> that my prospective employer will still provide the training and foot the bill for the flight from the UK to Spain, Egyptian political machinations notwithstanding.

What if SI were to give a Shipboard Security/Anti Piracy Course and Certification...I'd spend $$$ for that...I am a USCG Capt and it would cerytainly open up my Resume/Vitae a little more...

I'm definitely in that class. 50-cals on both sides of the ship. Drowning pirates would be big fun!
One thing to keep in mind when fighting in ships. The echo of rounds inside the steel passageways of most ships is something that tends to be disorienting. Let alone frags or flashbangs.

I must advise anyone thinking of using CP&Maritime to keep away. They are fraudsters and charlatans. They offer to accredit people AND put those people into maritime and land jobs. However, they have absolutely NO contracts and are fraudulently advertizing on their website. They have taken many thousands of pounds, dollars and rand from students who came from the US, UK and South Africa. and nobody has received their certificates. That means they took course fees of £4.600, as well as costing our US and SA brothers a great deal more in international flights.
They have also failed to pay the invoices owed to the subcontracted company. I also understand that legal action is being taken towards them.
Please keep away or become the victim that we all became. We rushed in in good will because they asked for help, but were conned like everyone else. What's more annoying is the fact that we run these courses in the UK and were simply offering a helping hand to someone we thought was in trouble.
I also understand that they are still seeking students to travel to spain to take the courses. I only hope legal action is able to stop them.

--Coops,
Thanks for posting this. I ended up putting a stop payment on the check I sent to CP & Maritime, and instead used the those funds as well as the airfare I'd already purchased to finance a fun-filled vacation to England & Scotland instead. :bliss:http://www.warriortalk.com/showthread.php?91966-Planning-a-UK-vacation-(specifically-England-and-Scotland) (http://www.warriortalk.com/showthread.php?91966-Planning-a-UK-vacation-(specifically-England-and-Scotland))

--Nick,
Thanks for asking. As Shadowdancer already noted, I'm indeed alive and kicking in the UAE, and having a grand ol' time.

I couldn't imagine anything more beneficial for the CG than to have so custom tailored SI training. When I served on the CGC Morgenthau out of Alemeda, CA we had some interdiction training and firearm qualifications but as I look back on it all I am absolutely horrified at how amazingly inadequate the training truly was. In a sense, we were sheep for the slaughter!!
I'd be really interested in checking out some Maritime focused work and training in future....
Have passport, can travel....:cool1:
