Really? A Monocle?

I have enjoyed excellent vision all my life, but now in my mid-40's I find myself holding the menu out a little further or squinting a bit. So I mentioned to my girlfriend that I might need some help, and that I thought a Monocle could be the answer. She says I will look like Mr. Peanut and dismissed my suggestion. While I know she might be right, I still would like a source to buy a Monocle. Is it still elegant, or a cast off from days gone by?

OK, maybe not really. But maybe the more Scotch I pour tonight, the more sense it makes. They are really practical...WT Forums exist to bust up classical thinking. Is the Weaver stance with a 1911 the right answer? It was before I landed on this Forum...so convince me that the Monocle is not the answer. Think of this as an exercise in searching for the best answer...I am not saying the Monocle is the right solution...I am saying that we need to be open to all options to stay true to the WT reason for being. Besides, Mr. Peanut is pretty elegant in my opinion. Canes are another topic I suspect.

Pipes are elegant...you might be on the right track there...only problem is it will spoil my "grey man" image. Everyone would notice me with that get up!

You must have the right attire to make good use of your monocle (T-shirt, not good). It needs to be in a breast pocket so you can access it easily. This is certainly less bulky than having a glasses case that you have to carry around and protect. The monocle, being flat, is easily concealed and takes up zero space. Just need a slim, flat leather case (or even kydex).

If you're in a T-shirt you need to wear a vest to house your monocle. I see no problem with it. I think they are kind of neat.

Many people have one eye that is better than the other. For instance, apparently I have an astigmatism on one eye, but not the other. So I'm a monocle candidate also.

I know this is bringing up an absurdly old thread, but was out on the town today and suddenly realized that one's top hat would solve my ongoing problem of concealing Glock 33 round magazines!
