Looking for vehicle gun mounts

Im looking for gun mounts for a Jeep build. Id like to have a "universal" mount to hold a AK or full size rifle either between the seats or next to the door, like in the Hummer. Id also like to find something that would hold something smaller like a PCC. I remember the Brits had a dash mount for Sterlings in their trucks.

Im not opposed to locking mounts like in PD cars but something simpler is fine.

You'll probably have to modify the concept somewhat to fit whatever specific guns you want to carry. My setup works well for my Guide Gun and pump shotgun, and I can get a Romy AK I built with an AMD-65 stock to work with the stock folded, but most other rifles don't fit.

How about just going with the surplus mounts? U.S. is easiest to get, Germany had a nice one for the G3 in the Unimog, went on the dash, and one back of the cab. Pretty G3 specific though. U.S. version is probably easier to mod, and I like the butt pocket on it. Lots of them available NOS too.

Thanks guys, Im still looking but not eliminating any options yet. Ive been thinking about one of the polce type locking mounts. Ive seen ones that point barrel down on an angle toward the front and sit along side the passenger seat; but the verticle mounts would seem to use less space. The shotguns in our patrol cars are mounted horizontal on the screen between the fron and back seats. They are a bit alkward to get the gun in/out from but it keeps it out of the way.

Im looking for the the G.I. mounts. They worked pretty good in Hummve's as I recall. They may require some fitting in a civilian Jeep. Im also looking for something to hold a Sterling for ready access to the driver and passenger.

I'm currently looking at options for my LJ as well. There is plently of unused space over the rear wheel wells, but a mounting option in this location might only be convenient when the top is down. This space might be too short with a TJ (????). Some guys on JF have mounted a Big Sky Rack overhead the driver/passenger seats. This might work for me since the PSL will lay down flat just behind the driver/passenge seats. I need to measure. I'd prefer a way to grab and go without having to fold up the seats to do so.

This caught my attention in the new Cabela's catalog. i like the idea that it can be removed from the floor plate if necessary.
