To buy. I figure the winch isn't much good if nothing to hook it to. All the desert we have in Arizona most of the time their isn't anything in reach. I've been all over the net and could only find one maker of what I'm looking for http://www.pullpal.com/aboutPP.html To me to look at it seems way over priced. Anyone know of a better place to buy from of if someone makes something in the order of pullpal how much would you want to make me one? I have a 1999 1/2 chevy with an extend if that would make much of a difference as to what I'd need

Thanks, (Cottonwood,Arizona)

have you considered some rebar and a sledge hammer?

Done it that way but in my 60s harder to swing a sledge then it use to be. Plus here in allot of the areas just a little under ground nothing but rocks. Then if up in the mountains when cold good luck even driving a stake if your young again

Gotcha. I think your only other option is to have a chat with a welder.

Hey, take a look at the Smittybilt WASP. Might just be a little small for holding that '99 Chevy, but the price is better.

I just ordered one on E-Bay $166.00 thanks. Way cheaper then a tow truck when in the sticks Thanks Again!

You betcha. Let us know how it works.

I went from using the rebar trick to splitting the cost of a Pull-Pal with my brother. Never looked back since.

I've got the Jeep sized Pull-Pal, and it is absolutely worth every penny that they charge for it. There is quite a bit of engineering in the details, and I'm pretty sure that at least some parts of it are made of a fairly high alloy steel.

Yup. I swear by the Pull-Pal. I've used it with my Taco and my brothers CJ. It will be interesting to hear back about the Smitty.

Never tried it (I have a pull pal), but I have heard that you can bury your spare tire in the sand and use it as an anchor.

Unfortunately, the WASP doesn't work and the Pull-Pal does work:http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24641

Never seen or tried the spare tire trick. Rebar works good and stows easy. I used that for a long time before Pull-Pal.

I've been very happy with the Pull-Pal.

Where wheel we have so many trees and large rocks I've never thought about a pull pal. I do know guys in FL that use them a good bit though and swear by them.
What about the SB one doesn't work I didn't follow the link.
