Merry Christmas and Happy Hanuka Brothers and Sisters!
After over two years of applying, appealing, interviewing, clearing a BI and treading water in the 'hiring pool,' the call finally came.
In a couple of months, I will be leaving the airlines and entering the world of Federal Law Enforcement as a Pilot for Customs and Border Protection.
This fulfills a long aspiration as this is the first flying job I wanted, back in the 1980's.
Several influences awakened the long sleeping warrior within me. The information, opinions, shooting courses I've attended and religious references I found on this forum helped guide that warrior into the light.
Thank you Brothers. Again, have a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanuka!

Congratulations. Being able to do what one wants to do in life is an awesome coup.
I've been watching Border Wars on NatGeo. The pilots look like they are doing some fun work.

That's correct. I'd like to RW also, at some point if it's ever in the cards. I'm just happy I got in.

That is really too cool. When I was first in LE back in the late 70s I have a friend with BP who was able to transfer into aviation, but I lost contact with him after he was transferred to California. Good luck and stay very safe.

Miami was my preference, but was offered New Orleans. I accepted gladly! I hear it's a great Branch with a good mission.

Congrats DonB. Since you mentioned the 1980's, is there any chance for a 59 Y/O pilot with 1000 PIC time and LEO experience?
