Sexton executive security

A friend of mine wants to send a few guy that work for him to this class, or school for executive protection..

Looks like these classes are like 3-9 days..

Seems a bit light to then run off and work in the industry ..


Anyone ever hear of them?

I don't have any experience with them and after checking out their website, I was that it hasn't been updated in a while. That classs you were asking about was held over a year ago, October 2009 and since this is the end of 2010, their training schedule for next year should have been posted at least 6 months ago and it's not. They could quite possibly be out of business by now and their lease has not expired on their website space. You could try sending them an email, but I've seen all I need to see from their site, if they can't manage that I don't think I would trust them as a customer or a student. Your mileage may vary.

I live in Manassas and I have never heard of them. That doesn't necessarily mean much.

It's not clear to me where they conduct their Manassas training. I don't think there are a whole lot of sites in Manassas to conduct any live fire training.

One Google search result shows a location for Sexton Executive Security at 9145 Centreville Road in Manassas. That's pretty much at the intersection of Routes 234 and 28. I am unaware of any place to shoot over there. Yet their web site has a Fairfax, VA address.

Info about the "CEO", John Sexton", seems hard to come by. On one site I perused he claims to have been in Northern Ireland.

If I get bored later maybe I'll swing by that Manassas location and see what's there.

I'd take an EP course from SI . .. in fact that'd be top priority cuz really thats what I am with my wife when I'm at the mall - its just that I dont have the EP thing down .. . :(

I think SI has the instructors and the experience between them to put together a world class EP course. I can tell you right now that the firearms/ reactive skills portion alone of such a course would be leagues beyond what is being taught at even the good EP schools in the US. Team tactics, trauma care, evasive driving, house-clearing, H2H; most of the material already exists in curriculae, with a few others yet to be written. Might be worth exploring further....:scratchchin:

I found this thread when I was googling for Sexton Executive Security, I was wondering myself if they are still in business. Sexton did some subcontracting for a security company I had worked with back in late '07 to '09.

Give you a little background; while the website proclaims to be the "Secret Service of Private Security" most of their business came from armed guards at the Lorton Arts Center construction site and certain TGI Fridays locations in northern Virginia.

Their headquarters was a top floor in some old house converted to offices near Occoquan. The Fairfax address was for a PO box only. My company that hired Sexton for some contracts always seemed to talk to a new operations manager every time we called; we finally drove out there and were surprised what a dump the headquarters was.

I was never impressed with the owner/president, John Sexton. He liked to advertise how he was a former Irish police officer and had worked with the UN, but he never seemed that knowledgeable on security management. I do know that he tried to get his employees involved with this pyramid scheme called "Automatic Geek." You can still find his sales pitch for it on his blog linked from the website.

If they are still in business, hopefully they have cleaned up their act, but it is piss-poor advertising not to update the main page of their website in over a year.
