Would the RMR work on a shotgun, or is it too small?

This RMR-A looks like it might be a good idea for a HD shotgun.

I got a rail for my 590 and am thinking about putting some type of red dot sight on it.

Any comments or suggestions?

How would you mount it? In the dovetail slot with an adaptor? Looked up some othere Trijicon RD's but no mounting adaptors for a Glock were listed. Anyone have a source for same? Thanks.

Here is the best way to do it for a Glock. You send your slide in to One Source Tactical and they will machine it to accept the RMR sight.

They also have a couple of other options where you buy a new slide.

I didn't care for it quite so much on my AK (also can't line it up perfectly).

Why not?

I probably would have used a lower mount than he did though. The RM36 I think it's called.

Gabe, has there been any news on the release of the new adjustable RMR?

I ran a test and evaluation on the RMR using the dovetail adapter. Shortest summary of results: Don't do it.

Anyone heard any more news about the RMR-A?

Probably available after SHOT. My pre-examination opinion is it would be good on a rifle, but probably not as good on a pistol.

Looks like it was announced at the shot show. http://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products/product3.php?pid=RM07
Being able to reduce the brightness for use with nightvision seems like it might be nice, but I'm wondering how easy it might be to accidentally change the desired setting when the gun's holstered.

OK....I have one. Its very good. The "switch" for lack of a better term takes some force to use, and for the guys worried about battery life, it is longer on this unit. As soon as I get home I will install in one of our pistols and test it. Look for a write up soon.

Excellent. I need another RMR, so I've been waiting on this one before buying.

That's welcomed news. I look forward to reading what you think about the new Trijicon RM07 6.5 MOA. An RDS optic for a Glock pistol that could also see duty on a shotgun is next on my list of firearm-related purchases. I was waiting for reviews of the new model of RMR before going ahead.
