I'm browsing for last-minute gifts and came across the Eagle Hunter's Vest.

I'm a big fan of organization and like the idea of having a place for everthing in a quick-to-grab pack. Gotta admit that this vest really looks good and seems to have good organizational possibilities.

Questions: Is this a good design? Have you guys used this vest in the field? Is it suitable for a southeastern deer hunter, rifle and bow? Is it well laid out? Is it worth the price?

My dad's gotten back into hunting after a few years layoff and I'd like to see something like this under the tree this year. Money's not an issue.

Logically, this is just like the LBV's worn by the military and police. Folks seem to like those for distributing weight and keeping the little things at hand. I wouldn't mind having one for myself, but I'm rather fat and don't think it would fit (one size doesn't always fit all).

Can you fellas shed some light? I'd be grateful

I've looked at it, and the pouches all secure with velcro. Not a good lidea when one is hunting and trying to be quiet. I use vests for hunting a lot. I've found that shopping for a high quality turkey vest suits the bill nicely instead as it is designed to be quiet. It's not as bombproof as the Eagle vests, but it works. There are a couple that are tight against the body more like tac vests from what I've seen in stores as well. Get a good one and it will last better.

I have an eagle hunters vest i love it yes a bit noisy with velcro! i removed the velcro on the main pouches and had the local uniform shop add snaps to it! i alos had them remove the left side chest pouches and had a fap(folding ammo pouch) eagle sewn on to it!
