You might try Law Enforcement Equipment Corporation in Nashville, TN. Tommy St. Charles is the owner and takes in all kinds of police trade-ins.

Seen quite afew on gunbroker.com recently. A couple of the postings said they had many of them and to give them a call. Should be able to pick one up for a couple of hundred.

If you are just looking for a receiver to build up with your own parts you might try pawn shops.

You can sometimes find a fairly clean shotgun there for a couple of hundred or so. If you find one that look likes it has been on their rack for a while see if they will knock some off to get it off their books.

mark... thanks for the tips... checked out several sources but no luck... was told that many PD's are retrofitting their 870's instead of buying new... now if i could find a source of just receivers... :o
