Kind of messy to explain in few words but these are things that go from personal security ( mostly avoiding getting into gunfights in the first place, which is good for your health:D), finding a job and make money to pay the bills when there’s 25% unemployment, how to drive when no one obeys traffic lights after 10 PM and carjacks occur often, keeping essential gear at home and the necessary mindset changes required during hard times just to name a couple of the most obvious things.
For example this morning(working on a book), I was writing a chapter regarding people’s weakest link in terms of security: Your kids and wife.

You can shape yourself into being pretty badass with training and mindset ( for real, not just a wannabe) but a phone call from your kid/wife saying they’ve been kidnapped, or arriving home and finding the bag guys already there with a gun to your loved ones head, that put things into perspective. (Baigorria says to take the shot and shoot the badguy in the head and I agree with him)
Still, needs to be addressed in my opinion and there are things you can do.

I’ve taken defensive shooting classes with “El Negro” Baigorria, your instructor in Argentina. Still need to take “modulo3”.
Also took hand to hand fighting with other instructors. Boxed for some time many years ago and now do tai boxing and BJJ floor fighting.

Unfortunately my teacher credentials are oriented towards 3rd year Architecture Representation, drawing and sketching.:)
Not gun or survival related but my students tend to like me and do as I say… after a couple slaps. :DJust kidding, I don’t harm them physically… just destroy their egos so they’ll listen.

I don’t know how many people would be interested in these kind of experiences, but there’s a fair number of visitors to my blog each day ( thanks guys, by the way)

I was active duty '91-94 and since then a reservist trying to make Chief (E-7). Currently on active duty working in Emergency Management/CBRN in Japan.
I also have a 2 year AOS (Culinary degree) from the top chef school in the world, the Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park, NY campus) Plenty of various kitchen experiences.
It was only 6 years ago I moved into security work, which I equally love.

45 plus years camping and mountaineering around North America, worked as a Mountain guide, climbing and skiing instructor, professional ski patrolman, Emergency Medical Tech. EMT first aid and avalanche control. 12 years Mountain Rescue with experience as a OL, Dept of Emegency Services Wa State. Former Reserve Deputy Sheriff, I have also taken additional shooting classes from a Federal Law enforcement Instructor. My wife and I also have a large horse ranch I know how to train horses and I have packed into the Cascades to hunt the high hunt for many years, I am life long hunter and know how to plan for a expedition, I have also tracked men, in rescues and as a deputy. I have two years college in Agriculture and have farmed.

Water Storage and Treatment: Industrial, Home, Backwoods and post SHTF. Includes making, monitoring, sampling and storing in accordance with current ASTM standards (the standards that ISO "best practices" are base on).

Training: Nuclear Power School (18 months) and 2 years college (Auburn University), Chemistry/Radiation Control 'C' school. Evaporator, Distiller, RO, ceramic filter and resin bed water treatment schools (a few days on each)

Experience: 9 years active on nuclear submarines, including 3 years of instructor duty in the Chemistry/Radcon area. (1992-2001)
5 years as a coal fired power plant plant chemist, responsible for the operation of the above types of water treatment and storage. (2001-2006)
3 years mid level supervision in the same power plant.(2006-current)
Backpacking and camping experience in NY, VT, VA, FL, NC, SC, MN, AZ, AL, WA so I am familiar with different terrain.

The three years of instructor duty was at Nuclear Prototype Training Unit Ballston Spa, New York. This duty included hands on, seminars, one on one training of other new sailors (average age 19-20). I have prepared and presented chemical papers on lake water chemistry, superheated steam boiler chemistry to large audiences in several Southwest Chemistry conferences in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Park City, UT and at a Cooling Tower Institute convention in San Antonio.

I have made and stored water from open ocean, brackish water (not a good idea), mountain streams, wells, lakes in several states and a couple countries.

Because of my power plant and submarine background, I have a varied background in everything from plumbing, pumps, turbines, electrical distribution, electronics, compressors, diesel generators, HVAC plus the above mentioned water purification. I have current contacts with many vendors in the water treatment area.

I possess current HAZMAT certification (40 hr HAZWOPER), and working knowledge of radiation/contamination controls plus live experience with each. I am familiar with NSF standards for potable water systems materials as well.

I have spent 18 years in the military, 8 as a Navy SeaBee, and 10 in the Army. I've been to Kosovo in 99 during the liberation, and I served in Iraq in 03, the first year, until injuries forced me out (but I'm still able to carry, shoot, and fight!).
