I picked up a sure replacement LED head for my everyday 6P
that I carry. and just to test it I flashed myself and I did the
same to my wife ( she loved that...not)... both of us
saw stars for a number of seconds.. apparently the LED
has a much stronger effect than than the incandescent..

they are not cheap at $60, but I wont be replacing bulbs anymore.

How does the distance and focus of the LED unit compare to the standard bulb assembly?

I need to mess with it more before I can tell. but it does work differently.

Pleae do and let us know. I signed on today specifically to ask if anyone had used this item. What synchronicity!

It spreads in a different way, this is actually useful since the edges are not a defined.. you'll find that the weaker contrast between dark and light will make things eaier to spot that are outside the pattern..

I have seen some other info on the web about LEDs vs incandecent.
you have to google around for that. the color is naturally not the same and the head is much bigger than the stock unit.. but I bet the bulb wont burn out from shock..

It might be subjective, but I like this over the bulb.. one less spare to carry..

by the way you might start reading links here http://www.uwgb.edu/nevermab/led.htm

here is a good link on LED flashlights

look at the contrasting pictures.. one of the problems with
the stock surefires is the ability for someone to hide in the
shadows on the edge of the light..
