My cousin just did a tour with them he hated it and couldn't wait to get back but the $$$ is good. He says the mission was a waste of time, they will never learn their petty tribal squabbles are more important to them than anything else. While he was there they had discovered 3 traitors amongst the IP trainees that were using cell phones to call in there positions to outside mortar crews, luckily no one was killed except them :D:D

I am currently in Iraq working for the Civpol program. PM me with your e-mail and I'll answer your questions as best I can.
I can tell you this. It is like anything, it's what you make of it. Some will have a great time, others will think it sucks. Take everything, including what I say, with a grain of salt.

HAd on of my operators working one other company and then Dyncor for 4 years total and said it was good to him. Money is good, got treated well, and got to shoot some bad guys. Lost a lot of weight too.

A friend of mine has had to ride with Dyn PSD several times as of late out into the Red Zone. He says they are very, very professional. Very organized. Very squared away.
He mentioned that the guys who are reupping for another year at their end of mission are pulling $18,000 a month.

That was my impression of them from what I have heard.
That is some serious $$$!

One of my best friends from college an NYPD MOS's kid was an accountant for them about the same time I worked for the Republican national committee. I will ask him how they are.

Before you get all excited about $18k a month, there are several very different sides to Dyn.
The PSD side is making that much, but it is not the CIVPOL side. The PSD guys (Shark teams) are really good and professional, and are a little harder to get into. They require a little more then the CIVPOL mission does.
The CIVPOL mission, pays about $10K a month + bonuses. Comes out to about $134K for the year. This is what you see advertised in all the trade mags and websites. 5 years as a cop, etc... It is difficult to switch from CIVPOL to PSD in the middle, but it has been done. Look hard at what you are wanting to do before you decide to come over.

PSD and CivPol are two completely different animals...
DynCorp WPPS PSD and other Dyn PSD elements are different as well..
pay, benefits, working conditions, etc.. are all dependant on the contract signed, the area of operation (CivPol is a global program.. its not just in Iraq and Afghanistan), and the mission...

Dyncorp offered me a position in the summer of 2006.
They wanted me to be the adviser / mentor to a cabinet member in one of the current areas of operations. Sponsored by State Dept.
Salary was $175K, plus various benefits.
I had just wrapped up an ugly 2+ year long custody fight with my ex. I finally had visitation with my 17-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter. I decided that my kids needed me more than I needed the money. Especially my son. It was his last year in high school and my last chance to prepare him to be a man.
I don't regret my choice.

Contact DynCorp and talk to a recruiter. They are into a lot of stuff all over, not just PSD and civpol.
PSD ( PSS ) about $16,000 a month.
DDM/Medic's / Shift Leaders about $17,500 a month.
84 days in country and 28 days out, with flight cost reimbusment up to $2,710 per trip.
Housing provided. Per-diem is $19 a day ( is supposed to go up )
But you can live on it.
Top of the line equipment, body armour, SUV's ( Level 4 ) comms, weapons ( same as military except G-19's )
They run 3 PSD courses a year.
Hope this helps.

Put your resume in. They prefer ex-military and ex-LE. Kinda on the USMC side. But they do have a even mix ofn background. I'm retired Army SF.
They have AF, CG, Navy, Army, Local, State and Fed LE.

How about Air Force types? ;) And as far as Fed L.E. goes, does that include Customs?
