Ok, I fly practically every week. I’m TSA Pre Check approved and I have noted in recent weeks they have changed their settings on the metal detectors. I have what amounts to a low budget gun belt I use at work, typically holding up a pair of Carhartts. Now, after many many flights, this belt and buckle is tripping the detectors.
I’m certain my Ken Null “actual” gun belt won’t work, it’s buckle is high quality brass.
I’m looking for tips/experience with non-metallic belts? Anyone else in this boat? I do string my belt up with tools an such upon arrival, so it does need to be sturdy. Reasonably professional looking, in a “working engineer” way.

Been using the Wilderness Tactical belts for the last 7 or years, both the metal and nylon (I think) buckles. They do have an ultra-light EDC belt, but it's retention isn't as good as the metal and regular Frequent Flyer.

Buy the leather/Velcro inner belt many LE wear to fly in. Put your good belt in carry on/checked bag.

I'm using the Tenicor Zero belt. It's amazing. Sewn by wilderness. I went through TSA twice last Saturday without a ding.
I'm one week in with this belt. So far all is good. It's surprisingly a lot more comfortable too.

I've been using the Blue Alpha Gear minimalist belt for years. Also Pre-Check, never once have taken it off for security in dozens of flights. Super strong and secure. The velcro on mine is just now starting to look like it's wearing so I ordered a new one this week.

Why not just take it off and send it through the x-ray?

Because then he would t have anything to post about.
My daily belt and the same belt I fly with is a Galco gun let I bought in 2001.
I have easily flown with it over 100 times including multiple international trips.
It simply comes off with the other stuff when I go through screening.
No fuss. No muss. No listing about it.

Sounds like an unwashed non-prechecker. [shudder]Fair criticism. For many years now, I've enjoyed the game of being as obnoxious a pain-in-the-ass as I can be to TSA. I always ask for a pat-down. I still need to get the right shirt, though:

List the airports where this happened. May be a local intel decision or poor/improper calibration.

I have always said one day I am going to show up for TSA screening in one of those Euro mans things and flip flops.

Specifically ATL and MCI recently.
Yes, once I know it’s a probable, I proactively remove it. But, it’s just one more thing to slow the pass through security theater. I travel with an assortment of tools that get occasional looks already that I cannot do anything about, so I try to minimize other things that cause extra screening.

I just ordered a Blue Alpha Low Pro.
Thanks for the heads up!My new one came in yesterday. Velcro is super strong. I think my previous one lasted 3 years before I decided the velcro was becoming compromised.

I wear a double layer Bullhide belt when flying. Haven't had any issues with TSA screening with it.

I have one of these. Wearing it as I type. I like it, but I have the narrowest one, and the velcro (hook side) came loose, so I contacted them and sent it back to get fixed. So kudos to them for that, but then it came loose again. I would not get the smallest size again.
However, the TSA still made me take it off every time I tried to wear it through the check-in.

I agree with Badger. I use my inner belt as my only belt when flying. No metal to trip the detector. It's also a reasonable CCW belt while away from home. Carrying a subcompact while away becomes a non issue. no problem.

Wore my first FF Belt for over ten years before I had to replace it because I lost weight & couldn't cinch it any tighter. Still works great as a range belt over the one I currently wear. I really like them.
