Came across this one on a member's suggestion. While it was set a bit after my time, and all nights were not that harrowing, it is a fair presentation of LA County Law Enforcement in the 1990s.

I will definitely watch the movie. Loved the Crown Vic but loved 89 Chevy Caprice Classic more. That car boogied. No ABS and a 5.7L motor. Caught lots of bad guys with that car.

I had the 1988 version. Great car.

I loved mine. Black cars matter.
It was better in all ways than the Caprice it replaced, except for ground clearance.

Or the Ozzie "Caprice" that replaced it. That was fast, but handling was not particularly good and there was insufficient space in the cab or the trunk, even for a skinny old man.
The Crown Vic was not fast, but it handled well, it was predictable and had plenty of room. It felt like a well-broken in pair of boots. I went through several, and I always tried to hold onto them well past the "mandatory" turn-in mileage.
