Ok, we have had a thread or two on bourbon, rum, and I think scotch. I’m wondering what the tribe drinks when they don’t drink things straight.
My go to drink is bourbon, straight up, in a dirty glass - I’m a simple man.. but, for those times when I want a mixed drink, I go for a bourbon based Manhattan.
What about you?

One of my co-workers got me hooked on vodka drinks a couple years ago when we are on business trips. So started picking up Tito’s Vodka in duty free and mixing drinks at the hotel with the free soda waters in the lounge or straight up in the taxis on the ride back to the hotel. At home it’s simplified Moscow Mules with ginger beer or a vodka soda water mix. Got 4 bottles of Tito’s on hand for this cluster f@ck. Not drink much beer these days now, just sticking to the vodka.

One of my favorites...
Thai Basil Gimlet
Take a good bunch of Thai basil and muddle the crap out of it in a steel shaker. Add ice.
Shot or more, depending how sweet you like it, of simple syrup
Two shots of fresh squeezed lemon juice
Three shot of decent citrus vodka. I like ketel one grapefruit & rose but any will work.
Shake the hell out of it.
Serve you and your lady out of a chilled martini glass.
She will like it, and so will you.

Nothing beats a good "Old Fashioned" IMHO.

THIS!
My Old Fashioned go-to is Four Roses bourbon; occasionally make them with Templeton's if I want that rye bite. Regardless, it's whiskey, bitters, syrup and fruit- that's it. I hate ordering an Old Fashioned at a restaurant and receiving some abomination w/ soda water in it.
Rye Manhattan done perfect (half dry/half sweet) 3/1 with a couple drops of lemon juice and extra bitters. Not that I’m particular or anything.
