Masonics fought one another during the Civil War.

This is in Gettysburg, Penssylvania. A very good story about "enemies".
Confederate Brig. Gen. Bro. Armistead (lying on the ground wounded) entrusting a pocket watch to Union Captain Bro. Bingham to be delivered to the General's family.
Armistead was shot during the Gettysburg battle and fearing that his personal effects would be stolen by Union soldiers, he gave a Masonic sign to ask for help .Union Captain Bro. Bingham then came to his aid.
Bro. Bingham took Bro. Armistead to a field hospital, where Bro. Armistead died a few days later. Enemies in battle but Brothers first and foremost
