Buried my PA Trooper Brother today

Man. .... tough day.

Been to more cop funerals than I can count .... and personally knew a few.

Today .... today was different.

I thought I knew him. But he knew me more.

We shared lockers in close proximity at 2 stations.

We were both firearms instructors.

I had the pleasure of speaking to his wife and 2 daughters today. His wife read my name plate and started rattling off all kinds of stuff she heard about me from Don. Brought a tear to my eye. Unreal.

Asked about my hunting trips ... my truck and my life at home.

We just buried her husband ... my Trooper Brother ... and that was my conversation.

The past 11 days put life back into perspective.... a perspective that gets drowned out by life’s daily grind.

I’ll leave it at that .... but wanted to share.

Too many have had the ticker quit just after retiring. Not knowing what Gremlins are in our vital organs causes many men to die too soon. Many of us are reluctant to see a doc and even more reluctant to follow advice. Knowing that it is likely your day and deciding to pass in uniform as opposed to a hospital gown takes an honorable man.
