The Food and Drug Administration is putting forth regulations that will reportedly ban flavored cigars and increase the prices of cigars due to manufacturers having to pay for new packaging with warning labels and having to pay $250,000 for each cigar blend that was introduced after a certain year (I think its within the last ten years). If you like smoking cigars, this will definitely impact you. Another example of government bureaucracy going out of control. Marco Rubio is one Senator who appears to be trying to stop this (see the last link). I'm going to contact my legislators on this topic and implore cigar smokers to do the same. My local cigar shop has already raised prices on many cigars due to the regulations, as the manufacturers are charging them more for wholesale prices to pay for FDA regulations.
The video is cigar manufacturer Rocky Patel on how the regulations will negatively impact cigar smokers and industry.

J.C. Newman an American company in Florida has stated these regulations could put them out of businesses. “Our company has survived two world wars, the Great Depression, the Cuban Embargo, but proposed FDA regulations would be the nail on the coffin for our factory and 135 employees,” said owner and president of the 124-year-old company, Eric Newman. “These are American jobs…this is all they know…this is all they have.”
