I'm headed to the central Florida area later this month on some family business. While there, my father, brother and I would like to do some practice/plinking at an outdoor range that has the capacity to shoot 200 - 300 yards or even farther if available.

I see plenty of indoor ranges in the area, but really no outdoor ranges to speak of. Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent outdoor rifle range? I plan to bring several of my AR's; various calibers 556 - 308. I mention weapon types only because some years ago I tried going to a range in N.E. Florida and they did not allow AR's or their term "black rifles". I want to avoid that sort of BS.

Again, any suggestions?

In St. Augustine, this is where I go when I visit. 0 - 200 and includes steel. There is also a 700+ that costs extra. I have not tried it yet.

Thanks! I was hoping to find something closer to the Orlando area, but St. Augustine is an easy drive.

You might like these they have several pistol bays and a long range rifle range and they are black rifle friendly.

That Volusia County location is a good option--should be less than a 1 hour drive.

Here's another possibility:

If you want to go south a bit farther I know there's a super-long distance location near Lake O, but it would be a long drive--probably not worth it if you don't want to go more than a few hundred yards.

Thank you for the suggestions!

I believe Volusia may be my best bet.
