Next weekend we are heading to Chattanooga/Lookout Mountain area for a few days. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do there? It will be us and the grown kids.

Rafting/kayaking is big there too. I have a coworker there who bellyaks which is essentially kayaking on your belly on a paddle board

How friendly is the area to guns? My permit is good in Tennessee but not Georgia.

Stop by and say "Howdy" to Randy Harris.

In addition to the aforementioned:

Goodman Coffee - if you really know the difference between retail coffee and real coffee, you'll love this place.
The Stone Cup Coffee - North shore of Tn River. Good, but Goodman's is a bit better
India Mahal Restaurant - BEST Indian I've ever had. If you like Indian food, you'll love this place. I coaxed Randy Harris here after training a few months back. He was converted and can attest to it.
Lupi's pizza - Awesome stuff. Great beer selection as well.

The name of the brewery previously mentioned is the Big River Grill. Affectionately know as the Big Liver Grill in my circle. Good Stuff as well.

Have fun in Chattanooga!

Big River Grill was exactly the place...thanks for the reminder. I had gotten the rundown from some coworkers who office there, and upon returning home I said “one could do a hell of a lot worse than Chattanooga for a place to live”. I thought it was a cool little city

Just don’t shoot the fish tanks at the aquarium...
