Some of the stuff on the list, is silly FU Maryland crap like a NAA Mini Revolver to wear on a chain as a pocket watch fob--Yeah totally useless except for the FU feature, since they arent legal in Maryland. Also thinking 20ga Tac14 (another MD negative), then maybe some serious shite Hahahaha

Who needs concertina when the moat is stocked with alligators?

Welcome to America.

Left MA several years ago and I know well that feeling of "fresh air"! Like stepping out of the metal shed on a hot summer day, into the shade of a big tree with a nice breeze. Congrats for sure and you'll continue to enjoy the freedoms as you recognize them.

Please, sweet baby Jesus, let this be an end to the phrase "but in MD".

I, like lots of us; we have wanted to leave (wherever we were) but had things holding us--family, work, almost vested pensions etc. In my case it took some family events to finally prompt me to "just do it". Without those changes in my situation, I'm sure I would have stayed behind, not liking it but weighing the cost of leaving against the cost of staying. The staying costs are like putting the frog in the cook pot. So the story goes, if you drop a frog in boiling water, it will jump out; BUT if you put the frog in warm water and slowly increase the heat, you will end up with fog soup. Those of us (OK many of us) felt the heat; but found work arounds as the heat increased. Eventually it would have cooked me; but my situation finally changed allowing the move.

As for, "but in Maryland"; Hmmmm if I don't speak out for the ones still in enemy territory, who will? Hahahaha; but I guess I'm also an example of "You can do it".... To my Brothers and sisters still behind the iron curtains, don't give up, keep fighting, AND keep looking for the chance to flee.

Do I smell a false flag operation here?

is it not to be the end of the phrase “but in MD”?

Geeeeze Gary, "false flag, seriously,:flapper: Youre welcome to come by but youll have to help unpack/sort and stack ammo crates. I made the last ammo run from "that place" today. OK, I moved to a little burb in rural PA. As for the exact location, look for the town to change its name to Edelberg

Bro, congratulations on your escape. I thought WV would be more ideal.

Even though I have lived here for most of my life, Maryland is not my home and its people are not my people.

Sorry , but PA is not all that great . Maybe better than MD , but .... Left there 15 years ago and haven't been back . Not going either . There are MUCH better places if you're going to all the trouble .

PA may not be perfect, although right now at least, it seems pretty sweet to me. It also has the advantage of being close enough to still have contact with those I left behind (because there are others I care about back there that couldn't "just leave")....and maybe start my own Underground Railroad for them too

Yeah PA has it’s problems, but you’ll enjoy the change for the better! WV has improved in many ways for the things that matter to me in the time I’ve been here I’ve not kept my PA permit current so haven’t followed their changes, but compared to your previous it will be a breath of fresh air!

I swapped PA for GA.... even better! It does have its downsides.... in Atlanta.... but it keeps you on your game and I carry my AR everywhere because it’s America here even with hipsters and welfare oxygen thieves in the city limits.

Edel, I know you’re near my old AO.... the real estate is cheap and the Amish make great food.

No place is "perfect" but moving from "this sucks" to "this is better" is pretty damn good. I went from CT to NC in 2015 after 15 years of "one of these days I'm a gonna......" I can't imagine what the hell took me so long and I'm already looking at my next step. Moving doesn't mean no hassles, it means new ones, but more importantly it means new opportunities and new benefits.

Movement is life. Stillness is death. You don't win the fight standing still, like a target on a square range. Those pieces of wood with paper taped to them never win anything. You win by getting off the X and kicking some ass. In Edel's case, the X was Maryland. Good move.

Guys I'm proof it is do-able; but honestly it only happened because life's pieces fell that way (or maybe fell apart that way). As for those of us here who dropped everything and moved, Wow I don't know how you just did it....

I'm planning a similar escape, but there's this little "money" part... Worse, I can make pretty significant money in six months or so. Combination of Federal retirement and a contractor gig.

Who needs concertina when the moat is stocked with alligators?

The concertina wire is OUTSIDE the moat.

To slow down the people trying to get away from the alligators.
