20 gage could be really cool for the people that don’t like the recoil of a 12 gage. Tbh, after a couple hundred rounds I wish I was shooting a 20 gage. A friend of the family is around 75, he loves guns and travels across country a lot. Him and I got into a talk about shotguns and he has a 20 gage for his protection, I was thinking then what a great idea it was for people in his situation.

In the smaller package of the tach 14, 20 gage actually may be a better option anyways. More manageable with or without a stock as well as quicker to get on target.

I've used 20g for everything from upland game, to deer (using slugs) with ZERO problem and a lot less shot in my meat.

For people.... i'm not eating them so I'll stick to the 12. HOWEVER, the wife loves the 20g....hmmm....

Plus, wouldn’t it be cool as hell to tell everyone you killed a deer with the tiniest shotgun you could find. That could go into the record books....

It would even be 'cooler' if it saved the life of a good person that was close to you.

Well yeah, but why not kill deer with it too if he likes.

It’s a great idea! I seem to recall Winchester had these 20 ga slugs that mimicked the ballistics of a .45-70 within a certain range. You will not be undergunned with a 20ga.

A 20g still has something like twice the energy of a 44mag, if I'm not mistaken.

20ga slugs are powerful medicine. When I lived in RI, they didn't allow hunting deer with a "rifle" but rifled barrel slug guns were just fine. I shot my first few bucks with 20ga slugs. 58 caliber with modern projectiles makes a wound in flesh that no one is rubbing out or walking off. Not even with a fist full of Advil and two bottles of water.
