Gabe Suarez teaches the Suarez Shotgun Gunfighting class. The shotgun remains the ultimate close quarters battle power tool. It is the battle axe of the modern gunfight battle field and of all the weapons, it is inherently suited to the aggressive Suarez style of shooting. Suarez brings his personal experience in several shotgun gunfights from his days working the Gang Unit to present the most real-world based look at the shotgun available to any shooter today. This dynamic course presents a clean and effective study on how to best use this weapon and why it still remains the best choice for many applications.
After a brief overview of the fundamentals and a skill check, we progress quickly to advanced reality-based drills. This is the Shotgun version of Close Range Gunfighting. As we move into the new era of American history and realize the new threats and return of old threats, the shotgun may once again be the primary choice for many professionals as well as private citizens. Material includes proper gear selection and placement, proper zero with shotgun and ammo types, fundamentals of shotgun work, Buck Pattering, Real world stress-proof reloads, weapon transitions, and ammunition changes, Dynamic movement and shooting, bilateral firing, use of cover and use in and around vehicles, counter roadblock work, use for impact and non-lethal work.
As an added bonus, students will have an afternoon session on the nature and application of the Stakeout 12 ga., and an evening social session on Saturday night. Learning includes material on the "Negotiating The Grey Area or Aftermath" of gunfights. All shotguns welcome - whether they are doubles, custom semi autos, or plain jane pump actions. We will teach you to run it to its utmost and deadliest level.
