Not the NPE items like the Choirboy, but either a Suarez designed baton or sap/blackjack? I know a few great leather sap and blackjack makers and know very little of the expandable baton. Gabe, any interest in designing something to your liking? I really like the NPE items and knives you are rolling out

There was the "sack of shit", but didn't see it on the store just now, perhaps I didn't look it up correctly.

I'm thinking maybe some sort of coin pouch made and constructed from suitable material. Have it sized to hold a proper weight er I mean amount of coins for the situation. Plus a sturdy loop type handle to allow it to be quickly extracted from a pocket when the need arises.

There is also the whole part about them being amazingly illegal in a large part of the country. Sometimes SI does do a sturdy leather coin pouch though. SI: Tactical haberdasher.

Back in 2005 one source used to sell saps. I think gabe mentioned the 416 gonzalez as onr he liked as a cop.

D3 protection makes an exact replica and Tex Shoemaker makes a factory rendition of the GONZALES 415

I could also see a 1990's Gabe with moustache wielding a PR 24!

I'll go out on a limb and speculate that all of the "I want a...." threads didn't translate into real sales. In the time I've been here I've seen a few impact weapons offered and quietly discontinued. With the exception of the brass "key chain" type products they all seem to have faded. Capitalism works. There is a difference between "that's so cool!" and actual commerce that justifies production beyond the test marketing run.

Good saps were easy to get back when cops carried them. Most departments stopped using them, so the market to justify real production evaporated. It's a boutique item in today's market.

A couple years back I wanted a sap and like you I didn't see what I wanted "on the shelf." I ended up finding a place that made to order. It wasn't cheap, but it was what I wanted.

There are a few guys making "coin saps" out there (Foster, Green Man, etc). Coin Saps are probably the best "official" option as they are dual use, which might sway a Prosecutor or Jury (depending on context of use).

If Gabe wanted to them, I guess he could work out a deal or duplicate their designs. There was one being sold on SI. It was the soft leather bag type. My guess is it didn't sell, so it went away--capitalism...

We did have a sap bag, in fact, we still have one. Ask Gabe nicely and he may just sell it to you.

Are Knuckle Dusters on the table in this category as well?

Ironically I remember Gane's go to melon basher being a maglite IIRC.he used a gonzales sap at one point with LASD I believe. In 2005 they did a group buy of saps here.

I still have one of those handy coin holders. Works great for laundry money on the road. It's been through almost every CONUS airport, and 4 continents. The SI coin bag is perfect to carry your change in a compact manner.

They don't which is why I ignore most of them. There is a company called Sneaky bags (something else I created in concept - "the bug out bag" with magazines). There were threads about how the OD Green and FDE were too high profile. If only Gabe made them in grey, forest green and maroon...then they would buy one.

Being naive...I made them in sky blue, grey, brown, and maroon. I sold none and eventually gave the entire run to charity. What did sell? FDE, Black, OD green, etc.

Sorry guys...call me a sell-out, sell-sword, mercenary if you wish, but I am not here to make cool things guys will marvel at online and never buy. I like saps and have several.

Do I carry one? No.

Do I have less lethal tools on board when I am out and about?

Yes. Two hands, two elbows, two knees and two feet.

For everything else I have a Glock with an RMR.

Saps are really cool and I like them. And I like Asps as well.

I remember a discussion with Sauer one time...he didn’t care for impact weapons because any time you’re justified to use one, you’re justified to use a knife (or gun for that matter). But...knives take time for the other guy to bleed out. A good impact weapon with the right skill and it’s lights out immediately. And, you don’t have to hit so hard you break things. There’s no way to “stab just a little bit”.

That said I don’t carry a sap or an asp. My impact weapons come OEM from the factory.

Bullets and blades don’t, so I carry those.

There ARE places where a COIN sap will go where nothing else will get a pass. Ive passed more through security points with a leather pen holder and a pocket full of quarters then I can count. Once inside the pens (Zebra 702--cheap stainless steel) went into my pocket and the coins in the holder. I got stopped at one of the cathedrals in London with the sap full of 1pound coins. Security looked at it while I played the dumb American tourists and said it was just coins. They smiled and let me pass.

Im also a fan of the Suarez Titanium Chop Stix. I typically store them in an outside pocket of a day pack along with pens and laptop cables. They never get a second look; but Im always prepared with some ethnic/your a racist response.

I have a Forest coin sap and a Green Man. I wasn't impressed with the customer service from Green Man but his pouch is nice.

I predict that metal chopsticks will become even more acceptable in the coming years.

I've already seen Leftists advocating carrying them along with metal straws and your own cups when eating out so you won't need to use disposable items and pollute the environment.
