How much has changed since this iteration?

Changed? This isn't a piece of history, this is hot off the assembly line.

Indeed changed. Gabe has mentioned the porting not being very effective as well as using a magpul fore end with a strap. My assumption is this is the prototype Gabe and Greg have been testing baised on what Gabe has said.

Maybe, I'm not working in the shop, but I still want to buy it.

Nope...didn't say that about porting. On this it doesn't hurt...and DOES REDUCE FELT RECOIL. The Magpul handguard and strap is an option. Some guys want it...others do not...and adding it is not free. This is the base production model.

That'll do to ride the river with.

Sweet! That is a fine looking shotgun. Could call that The Seattle Sweeper in this neck of the woods.

Very nicely done. Might be useful for bouncing steel shot off the pavement to further spread pattern against violent rioting crowds, in order to facilitate breaking contact.

Need to see a photo of the Stakeout with the Magpul handguard guard and strap, so I can make up my mind, Thanks
Have to have one! I'll be already for another stakeout, and a long night!

Does the magpul handguard and strap increase control of the Stakeout in your opinion? Thanks

IMO, the advantage of a strap would be more leverage if in engaged with an enemy ground fighting.

Man, is there any other firearms that looks as badass as a short barreled shotgun?

The stakeout just oozes badassery and I can't wait to get one. The company that makes those converters that allow for the use of mini shells, or short shells, says that while they are having difficulty in designing a version for the 870, they haven't given up on it. If anything those short shells would make for some fun range fodder.

Mini-shells are a waste of time. This is a six-shooter...5+1, with real 12 ga ammo, and that is more than enough. Please do not ghetto-up this work of art with crap that is only suitable for the Bump-fire crowd.

The Stakeout Strap BTW is done on a Magpul Forend with M-Lok attachments and exceed that silliness from Mossberg like a Ferrari exceeds a used AMC Pacer.

In my non-expert opinion, the strap does help with control. My experience is trying my wife's shotgun's old-school Surefire forend, which has a similar strap. My wife has been a fan of the war hammer/battle axe for quite some time. (Texas had no concealed-handgun license program until the Nineties, whereas long gun laws in Texas have long been quite permissive.)

My wife is retired from a relatively long career as a death scene investigator with the Harris County M.E.'s office; this county is about the third-largest, by population, in the USA, and includes most of Houston, so when she has an opinion on effective weapons, it is worth listening.

Looking forward to running this through its paces.

Battle axes are very cool, particularly when they are this sharp.

Hmm. I might have to commission a matching battle axe, just because.
