My fall back Red Dot is a RMR and that seems like a no brainer for a Fighting Shotgun; but are there other options worth considering. Can a Red Dot sit low enough to co-witness with "rifle sights"? Is that important?

Options Aimpoint T1/H1, Aimpoint Pro, EoTech, what else???

It CAN cowitness. I have something coming for the RMR. Sits low - cowitnesses - no excessive picatinny universe all over it. I am planning on one of the dual illum as the "likely best option". More to follow.

Working in it, at least! The 1301 version is currently in beta testing. Tonight I'll be machining the first one for the 870. We'll see how R&D goes, but so far so good.

I have wonder about using a red dot on a 870 for deer hunting since only shotguns are legal to hunt with in this state. I have a scope on mine (old eyes ain't what they use to be) but wonder if the red dot would serve better during those precious minutes of first/last shooting light.
