The Wedding was last Friday. Yes April 1st. Yes there was a bit of bouncing off the walls, like when we thought the Best Man might not make it; but a few deep breaths and a little binge eating (actually it was more like challenging a buddy to eat another and another and another burger because I was eating one-so he needed to eat one too...). So I thought I might share some events. At a dinner a few nights before, I was discussing with HeadShrinkHer and a buddy (the burger guy), about which guns would fit in our sporrans, and that one of us might use her G27 with the slide clip. Her mom who is not used to cops OR guns overheard and asked why any of us were gonna have a gun. First HeadShrinkHer explained that I always carry because Im a cop. Then Mom asked what I thought would happen. So I said just what would she think of me IF something DID happen and I couldnt do anything about it because I didnt have a gun--happily that seemed to be the right answer.

Many years ago my brother got married in my Mother's house. I was there early to help in getting the place ready. My mom wanted me to move the furniture around and so I decided to take off my pistol (which was in an IWB holster). I stuck it in an alcove near the front door along with my spare magazines. Well, it took longer than expected to move all of the couches around. As guests arrived, they walked into the house, saw my pistol and spare mags in a pile, and then started removing their own holsters and spares and dropping them next to mine. Before things got started, there was quite a pile of firearms sitting there. We had to take the time to sort through all of the guns (most of which were exactly the same....you know your own serial number don't you?) and reallocate the magazines. I can't imagine not being armed while getting married.
Congratulations Edelweiss
Congrats!
Can't wait to hear about the honeymoon, pretty convinced that I should take my family on a safari too!

Congrats Edel!!
I unfortunately did not carry in my wedding as I knew I would be quite under the influence of alcohol. I did however have a "private" security in the form of a buddy, who was not drinking and was armed.
I hope your nuptials went smoothly and a great celebration by all. Looking forward to your Honeymoon AAR (except for the private ones) LOL!

Congrats indeed! After a long time without adult supervision I got married a few years ago...best thing I ever did.

The conversation actually started because I had sent an email reminding everyone to carry and to think about what they were gonna carry because of kilt/sporran limitations. I also suggested how cool we'd look chasing bad guys down "DoG" street in Williamsburg with a sword in one hand and a Glock in the other--then posing in a Captain Morgan stance with a foot on the corpse and a bloody ear raised in triumph.
So the "guest list" went something like 2-G27s, 2-G21s, a NAA Guardian 32acp, and I think one of the ladies had a PPK in her purse. I had a baskethilt broadsword and so did my son, who was the Best Man (and yes arrived in time). Oh yeah and a few sgian dubhs were in the mix. The Guardian was mine, as this was my wedding and soon to be my wedding night, I opted not to have anything heavy bouncing around in my sporran.....
HeadShrinkHer agreed to the "binding cord" but drew the line at cutting the palms to share blood--she really is smarter than me in important matters....

Congratulations :) I wore my father's .38 revolver when my wife and I got married. My pops carried it when I was young, and since he wasn't able to attend in person I wanted him there in spirit. A significant number of our attendees -- including the officiant -- were also armed.
Amusing to think of you charging down DoG street, hurdling all of the tourists and W&M students ;)

My wife wouldn't let me carry during our wedding, which I grudgingly agreed to. I was pissed when I later found out that she had a folding knife stashed in the armpit of her wedding dress! Hypocrit.
Congrats! I too carried when I got married. Some of my cop buddies still give me grief about it, so many years later. I really can't understand why anyone would NOT carry during a wedding. Hasn't everyone seen what happened in Braveheart?!!!

Or Tombstone? I had a S&W M-60 in a Bianchi belly band at my wedding in the early 90s.

Did not carry at my own wedding (private residence in TX) but I know a lot of people did, including her dad.

Congratulations brother! Don't know how you scored someone who could put up with the likes of you. All the best.
Congratulations!
When we got married years ago our invitations had BYOG in bold letters.

Congrats man! Lol I was packing a G21 under my suit coat at my wedding. When we first met, I told her about how I carry a gun everywhere and if she didn't like that, we most likely weren't going to work out as a couple. She now packs a G19 everywhere she goes. Life is good!

Congrats Edelweiss!
I'm pretty sure I was the only one packing at my wedding years ago (Model 37 Airweight). The monkey suit was too snug to hide my then current EDC (an Ed Brown 1911) so it stayed locked up in the getaway vehicle.

EW, Congratulations. Williamsburg is a nice. You may get used to the good life and not want to return to B'more.

I had a G26 in a Zach, stuffed into my non manly short pants, coupled with, egaaads, flip flops, for my Marco Island marriage. There was also a 1911, 3 19's, a PPK, and a 442 between the wedding party and guests. GunMutt's wedding was probably the second most well armed country in the world that evening?
ETA: Conratulations Edel!
