So...some questions.

Is the state of being pusillanimous an asset or a liability in business, in a fight to the death, or in life?

If not, why do you associate with, or listen to those who are in fact...pusillanimous.

Pusillanimous describes the symptoms.

Poltroon describes the person.

Either way if you call someone either of these things, they most likely won't know what it means.

While working for the State of Florida I had a director who was very much the 'P' word. We were supposed to be regulating businesses. Clients learned that if they entered his office without invitation, raised their voice and refused to leave, he would concede to whatever they wanted. Even the clients who would not do such a thing knew about this and were disgusted by it.

HA! I love this place, not only do my martial skills become sharper and deadlier, my vocabulary grows as well! I like how the first 2 syllables in the word, pusillanimous, almost sounds like one is about to say the word pussy. Which, I believe, in some contexts, is a synonym.

edit to add: oops, just double checked the phonetic spelling, it's pronounced differently. Not puss, pew. Still a synonym!

Living life boldly (within the limitations of one's ability to cash the checks one writes) absolutely is more enjoyable. I can personally attest that when I have made deliberate attempts to increase the intensity and boldness in the workplace, I get a 2x or 3x return as a result.
