View Full Version : Looking for a job!

I don't know why I didn't ask this here sooner but I've been heading towards moving on from my current job and have put in my notice to give them time to replace me!
Until I find another job my current employer let me know that I can continue to work for them.
Anyways, so I'm stepping out in faith and interviewing several companies right now to see if I will be a good fit for them and them for me. I need to increase my income but I will not be joining a team just for the money. I believe in having a passion and enjoying your work; to be able to give in the workplace and not just be there to "get".
I'm moving towards joining the military in 6 months so they would have to be comfortable with that.
Fitness, firearms, and surrounding myself with people of a high caliber, leaders, and those that enjoy pursuing excellence in everything they do is the atmosphere I'm looking for. I'm definitely open to other options so if any of you have a referral I'm all ears! Feel free to shoot me a PM.

Just my opinion on joining the military. Unless you absolutely want to be an infantryman, join the Coast Guard. You can be a shooter and have a good lifestyle and all the same benefits.

I personally would NOT advise anyone to join the military under the current bunch of maggot pukes especially not knowing who the next cic will be (hildabeast would be even worse). Good luck on the job hunt! It is tough and good ones are few and far between. I am still looking myself.

Agree with above.
Good friend of mine was a Lt. Col.-(Air force pilot) -good God fearing man. He chose to retire instead of accept the current direction and social agenda this country is going.

Just a question -- if you're thinking about joining the military in 6 months, why the rush to find a new job? With all the short-term changes, is it worth it?

Great question and one that I have been thinking about for the last 5 months. Two answers to that. One is that the income I make cannot keep me afloat. I am setting myself up for failure financially if I continue with this job. I do not want to have my back against a wall and I don't have the luxury to wait. The second one is that it isquite simply time to move on.

Fitness, firearms, and leadership is a whole new beast in the military. Sometimes it is for the better, other times it is not. If you don't go into a combat MOS you will run into people that won't know a barrel from a buttstock. I wouldn't let who is in the administration dictate what you do as long as joining is something that you really want to do. Your first couple of years will have bs in them no matter. Just make the most of it and form those unforgettable bonds with the men, I guess women as well, next to you.

I just have to throw it in... from a guy who has been a pirate all his days... f#ck the military. I have grandfathers, uncles, brothers and cousins who all served.
Not me. No way, no how.
There are other ways to provide. You still have 6 months. THINK HARD!!!

There are a lot more than most people believe. Too many troops believe that what the military teaches them is enough. That's pretty scary.

There is always one....or two...or three as the saying goes. In the infantry, we fixed those individuals with some pain retains sessions. The last unit I was with was wired tight, so it might not have been a fair representation for my original comment. The overall meaning holds true though.

I really want to disagree with that statement, but deep down I know I can't. I will say, I think that is very dependent on job (mos) and small unit leaders and their knowledge as well as numerous other variables.

I've been in the Army for 13 years. One thing I can say unequivocally, is that every MOS has it's sharp soldiers, who care and learn more than they're taught...as well as the retarded Gomer Pyles, who can't hit the broad side of a barn with their issued weapon, smoke weed in the barracks, and run drugs for the Cartels.
Speaking solely about the Army on this, but there are a handful of MOS's that attract and retain smart soldiers in general. There are a handful of units across the board that are worth a shit more than the minimum standard. Quite frankly, when I hear people say "we're the greatest military in the world", I imagine every other nations soldiers, blind folded and bumping into each other in a dark office, because I'm not sure how anyone could be less organized and competent. The only reason we win for the most part, is because we can afford to drop huge bombs on anything we can't handle...which is quite a lot.
I say this earnestly to anyone who asks. I've had a good time in the Army, it's given me a lot...but it's taken much more. The only reason I'm still here is because they promised me a retirement. If I could go back and do it again, knowing what I know now, I would join the Coast Guard. They do all the same shit, to include shooting BG's, and they have a much higher quality of life.
