It's time .I'm going to get a high dollar knife . I've narrowed it down to these two. Does anyone here have one or have any experience with them.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalkive got a 3" Hinderer XM-18 Wharncliffe. Great knife smooth flipper. That said, my next will be a Sebenza, just haven't decided which?

First off both great knives you really cant go wrong. In my opinion having owned both they are very different knives. The sebi is a very well engineered and precise knife that for me falls in the gentlemans knife category. It is slim in the pocket for its size and very smooth. I don't think you can overwork it as it is very well built and top quality but it does not have the feeling of mass in the hand a hinderer has. I find the sebi is very at home in the office or in dressy occasions. The hinderer is for me more a heavy duty casual occasions or "working" knife. I have a 3.5 xm18 that I have used(abused) as my everyday farm and outdoors pocket knife I really like it. One thing to remember is the thickness in the pocket of the xm hinderers. I find myself carrying an xm24 a lot these days as the thickness is not a noticeable burden in the pocket over the xm18 and the longer blade meets my needs very well. You may well find you "need" both the sebenza and the hinderer they are both great knives.

I'd go with the Hinderer. The Sebi is a fine knife, very well made, but it's just so plain and understated. Maybe that's part of it appeal to some, but personally, it does nothing for me.

I'm leaning toward the Hinderer with the spanto blade. I wish I could hold both prior to buying one. That's the reason for my post. I figured guys on WT had them so that's as close as I will be to handling them.

A classic large Sebenza was my everyday work knife for many years. For after hours, the small is king. My circles Umfaan is for dress up. All are easy to clean and maintain. I had all 3 by '98, and Hinderer had not caught my eye. The XM-18 has an additional scale layer for me to clean oil from underneath, so I would not have picked it for my work environment. I do like that the XM-18 can change out scales and it appears that all you need is a slot screwdriver. I think I would enjoy the flipper as well.

Thanks for all the replies! I have decided to get both. I just ordered the large sebenza 25. I can't find the Hinderer that I want in stock. As soon as I get them maybe I'll do a review.

Well done! I hope you love them both. The good thing about quality brands like Reeve and Hinderer is if you don't like one you can often recover most if not all of your investment.

I'm impressed! The feel of it the fit the finish is unreal! I have a zero tolerance 620 Emerson that is very smooth. The sebenza is all that and probably 2oz lighter. I can't wait to use this blade!
