27 lbs or broad breasted bronze turkey for tomorrow's festivities - raised him ourselves - his name was tom - he was a lazy sob - like to lay in the edge of the call grass - he'd call to the other turks as they came to him they'd drive grass hoppers his way and he'd eat them w/o having to chase them

He's in a ice bath of kosher salt, local apple cider and some wad of spices the wife threw in

I just chased #2 son way from the gulf shrimp ... kids

Off to butcher a couple butternut squash

The XO is brining a turkey for the first time this year. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. Back up plan is Ribeye's medium rare. I'll give thanks over either one.

I've got a turkey in brine that is heading to the smoker in the morning. Makes the turkey moist and yummy. Good luck tomorrow
