I posted earlier that Im giving Avenging Angel pistols to my buddies as "Groomsman's Gifts. Im doing the mods myself. I figure it sure beats a pen set... Now I should point out the wedding has zero to do with the Avenging Angel period, I just think they are cool in a pirate sort of way.

Actually we are doing more of a 18th century theme for the wedding, getting married in Williamsburg with dinner in one of the taverns. I'll be wearing a great kilt with a sword and we are doing the binding ceremony (minus the cutting). So Im thinking I might give her parents a dirk or possibly a sword as a sort of dowry. I toyed with a cowhide; but Im not sure theyd appreciate the significance of buying their daughter with cows. Im picturing in my often warped mind that at least a dirk in a presentation case or a baskethilt sword could be displayed.
A buddy suggested a silver goblet or similar; but really, how often do you get to give swords and knives as wedding gifts???
