Interesting drink

I'm more of a straight whisky guy but I will sample interesting drinks from time to time (especially on a warm Phoenix day).

Meeting with my business contact before flying home, we sat in the bar and looked over the menu...and I found something I had to sample: Black Smoke Margarita.

It mostly tastes like what you'd expect based on the ingredients. What the ingredient list didn't say is that it includes actual smoke. They hear up mesquite chips in a little fry pan and capture the smoke before transferring it to the serving glass. The smoke really comes through on the aftertaste.

It was refreshing, and interesting. Probably wouldnt order one again but glad I tried it.

Did you drink it from a straw?

Was the words 'Gang unit' or 'Grab a Stab' mentioned in the same sentence?
Did either of you wear matching clothes or purple?

If you answered no to all the above, we should be ok. A yes might cause a problem.

Did you drink it from a straw? Barring drinking from a hospital bed, alcohol should never come out of a straw.
Was your pinky in the air? Nichols had already left the state, so no.
Was the words 'Gang unit' or 'Grab a Stab' mentioned in the same sentence? To be fair this one could go either way (good or bad) depending on the company (gorgeous chicks, Nichols, etc)

Seriously though, when you order a Black Smoke Margarita you have every expectation it's going to be badass. The final product however...not so much.

Nothing wrong with trying out interesting drinks. You're manly enough that you can test the occasional purple cocktail without getting all this grief from the Peanut Gallery.

Smoke is good in some drinks (I love a great smoky scotch). I thought the method of adding actual smoke to the drink was kind of interesting and I may experiment with that...but with scotch or bourbon.

I didn't think the smoke worked well in a fruity purple drink.
