Its official we're engaged!

This past weekend was the one year anniversry of our first date, so HeadShrinkHer and I spent a few days at one of our favorite places, Antrim 1844. Its a antebellum home in Tannytown Maryland, just oustside of Gettysburg. Its been turned into a period bed and breafast. They also have an amazing restaurant for dinner. For me its an excuse to break out the black tie gear.

We've been talking about marriage for a few months as you guys know since Ive been talking about the Avenging Angels pistols as groomsmen gifts; but we never made it official. I wanted to do something special for her and I guess me too. While going through some of my Mom's jewlry from her estate, we discovered an anniverry ring my Dad had given her, and I thought what a great way of starting a tradition, (especially since it was HeadShrinkHer's idea). I had the diamond set in an antique (Edwardian period) setting that I knew she'd like and added side saphires for colour. The waited for the perfect timing--wow that was hard...

We dressed for dinner, I was hoping she wouldnt notice the bulge in my jacket pocket (from the ring box--you perverts...). I really do enjoy the whole Black Tie thing, I guess because we dont get to do it very often. She insisted I bring a kilt for dinner, this time I chose a black kilt to go with a jacket and bow tie. I love it when HeadShrinkHer ties my tie. Guys you dont know how cool that is until your lady does it.

The guests meet in the parlor of the main house before dinner and I asked a couple who were celebrating the husband's birthday, to take our picture. Thats when I took a knee and proposed--Wow it was the longest half second of my life before SHE SAID YES!
