Gang I've never been treated like sutch a tier 1 personality as I have over the last few days under the care of Gabe and Cheryl this weekend. when you think of quality people and pure givers a picture of this couple should be the first ones that come to mind. Gracioius hosts that took care of mine an Jeromy's needs and welcomed us like family.
We enjoyed long, late conversations about business, fighting, foood, pricey coctails, fitness, and how too make training better for you. Our constant focus throught the time together is how to make better products, better training and a better experience for YOU. Everything from ow to refine the SI product line to how we can make training more impacctful for you, the end consumer.
Gang, if you think this organization and it's cadre aren't concerned about your education and personal growth as a martial civilian than you are flan wrong.
we did work, after hours with Night Vision Devices in the bush, conducted group discussions about the results, what products we could bring to you to make you better, and how to take training to the next level for value added content.
more to follow after I've had time to digest the weekend but when the Suareze's daughter is calling you Uncle Greg, it's a special environment for sure.

Sounds great! The more first hand accounts I hear of Gabe, the more I want to get out & do a class with him.

It seems like this part of Gabe doesn't come through on the forum, which is probably for the best. Still, it's good to read about the guy behind the name.

There's a lot about Gabe that doesn't come through on the Internet. I'm sure all the other instructors are awesome, but if you ever get a chance I recommend adding a class with Gabe in AZ at some point--it will give you a very different perspective and understanding of the man.

I've been stuck working in Tempe since leaving the class (it's great combing a class with a business trip) and only able to catch up in short looks from my phone. But I'd just like to second Greg's comments. Gabe and Cheryl are fantastic hosts and truly gracious, caring people. It's an honor to be associated with the Suarez group, and a joy to hang out with the Suarez family.

Can we refer to you as "Uncle Greg" from now on? I would expect nothing less from the boss.

Dude, that has WAY too many scary implications. Don't do it.

Sounds like the dirty uncle that reeks of cheap cologne, taco meat, and shame.

Things have been hectic since I got back and meant to weigh in on this.
Can't remember ever being treated so well. The hospitality at the Suarez Compound was top notch. Great folks all the way around and a great family.
During the "evening business meetings" I think we solved the world's problems and furthered plans on how SI can do its part better to stop the Snackbars and other similar MoFos of the world.

Make that a huge fourth with Brent, Greg, and Jeromy; the Suarez family's hospitality, and SI's committment to you are both second to none.

The Suarez Compound.... Sounds like one of those snack bar training camps, but better. Looking forward to hearing and seeing what came out of the meetings, besides the empty bottles!

I kinda hope that Gabe lives in a nice home in a normal neighborhood of decent, successful people. If he has moved into a secluded desert outpost that he calls "The Sconce", then we are all in a lot of trouble.
No worries mate: nice home, manageable neighbors, plentiful wildlife (no, not Greg), high desert, and [--------------deleted------------]
That is all...

As I think back on the weekend one thing that really stood out to me is that even on the off chance the Jr. Staffers were watching TV (rare) we didn't get engaged by it. The entire time was spent talking about old times, fun stories, and other things that really matter. I guess the best way to say it is we had conversations of substance, not just filling dead air. Someone always had a question, insightful observation, or moment of clarity that was brought out just being in the environment.
I've been in class with Gabe and shared a few cocktails at the class dinner a number of times, but him in his hacienda, in a quiet area, sitting on the back porch around the table was some of the most relaxing, enjoyable time I've had. There are certain stories and ...... Opinions that even in this den of hard-asses and villainy, can't be shared and sometimes I think hard to be understood but can be shared, without judgment, with a fellow warrior over an imported beer or nice single malt, or both.
These are the times I live for and cherish, like a post action cheers to times past and prayer that God puts us in the path in the future. Men born and forged for action, for strength, to set standards and live by them.

I almost forgot my favorite event of the weekend. We stopped to pick up some supplies and while Jeremy went inside, Gabe and I hung out in the parking lot by the Audi. We were just standing outside the car shooting the bull and this lowered, tinted, black Caddy, bumping the funk, came rolling slowly through. Gabe and I were both on point to the individual behind the wheel (I know it's profiling and it's wrong) whatever. But I got a peek and old Gabe, still hungry, eyeballing the ride like it was a steak. After it rolled through and the tension was dissipated we both laughed about it and continued on with the evening.

Tom C. at dinner relayed conversation he had with his wife
T: My wife saw a facebook post from you with some rainbow garbage on it
W: Why do you have a gay guy in your facebook friends
T: No that's just Nichols, he's not gay
W: Looks gay to me
T: here look at his profile
W: Hmmm, Guns, Weights, Manly stuff, and lots of girls. Maybe he's not gay
I was absolutely rolling. That's hysterical.

That was awesome. Listening to that conversation was worth the price of the trip right there.
"That's just Nichols". Ha!
He's not gay. Mostly anyway.
