Hey guys, Something makes me think that many of y'all are "Dirty Harry" fans. I always liked his style and his great "one liners". Any how if you have the AMC channel all of the Dirty Harry movies are running tonight!! ENJOY!! S.

I have to be careful with movies like this. Gives me these irrational urges to buy big bore handguns.

If I had the $$$ laying around for a "nostalgia gun" a model 29 6" .44 would be very tempting!! :finger:

Watching The Enforcer right now.
LAWS rockets?????
I prefer the 4" M29. I was sort of interested in one of the new 5" 629's with the underlug barrel (like the 686) but I just really couldn't justify it with the other .44's I have already.
Oops, the foot chase scene is about to start, Harry chasing the guy who left the bomb in the station.

Yeah I love the 4" for real life....carried a 686 on duty for years....tough as nails, amazing trigger....really beat up....but great memories!

So that is who Dirty Harry is based on, of course with some Hollywood embellishment. Well, maybe with some embellishment...

Hell, you average out 9mm and 12G and you're close to .44. You may be on to something here.

Nah, Hollyweird had to tone it down to keep from frightening the sheeple. You can't let the soccer moms know just what has to be done to protect their PC world.

Beautiful. I actually prefer the look of blued finishes on revolvers.

I hear ya, but I still prefer stainless from a maintenance standpoint.

The sad fact is that the Dirty Harry days are long gone. The stuff he got away with will never happen again. Harry didnt have to worry about citizen complaints because as big of assholes that his bosses were, they tolerated his style because he got results. Today departments dont care about results-they care about how things might look-they care about making everybody love them instead of making the criminals FEAR them.
Yes I love the Dirty Harry movies but they are about as relevant today as the Daniel Boone series....

SkyCop,
I'm with you there. As much as I love to shoot, I've never got into cleaning and oiling guns all the time. I guess some people enjoy it. To each his own.
Ed,
I agree with you there. Any organization sanctioned by the government is more interested in public perception than effectiveness.
