So the XO and "Fire team" are out of town for a few days thus I'm forced to dine alone....Whatever should a pirate do?
Answer: Whatever he wants!
I reckon most normal people would be callin this a 2.4 pound "Roast".......But I be thinkin, this be a mighty fine Steak!

Steak, sweet potato, and a bottle of the Kraken. Friggin' perfect, all you need is a Habana for desert!!

That is a fine looking slab of meat. The avacado on the side looks excellent as well.

Looks good, save the Kraken, steak pairs waaaay better with a good Irish, or Bourbon!

Well, I determined that it would be terrible for a comrade to face the Kraken alone, so To Your Health!
Airborne and Amen.

Fantastic!
A nice medium wrapper cigar would round that off nicely.
Cheers.

While back, I got a call from a girl backing out of a date. (Long while now that you mention it because I got married a couple few years ago) Anyway, one of my Lieutenants asked me what I had going on that night...feeling rather dejected, I admitted nothing was in the pipeline. And being married he replied "You lucky bastard. Now you get to go home, cook a steak, and watch Blackhawk Down while cleaning guns all night". Which was an excellent suggestion, brightened my mood considerably and made me thankful for the solitude.

My wife got it for me in Savannah when I took her there on a TDY trip.

Being married is great, but you single guys ... sheesh! Enjoy your freedom whilst you can!
Seriously ... my wife and her friends from church get together at least once a month for this thing called "scrapbooking." We call that "Kung Fu Fridays" in honor of the first few times I got myself some Chinese food and watched Kung Fu Hustle or The Seven Samurai, etc. This is now an evolved ritual -- I usually take off from work an hour or two early, go to the range for a bit, come home and grill some catfish/steak/chicken/something with a face, and read, write or watch something violent. The wife proudly tells her friends about Kung Fu Friday, says it helps the marriage.
I also have a similar deal on Wednesdays. As I get closer to retirement I may have to expand the franchise. Either that or get a job.
