As society works tirelessly to emasculate men, I choose to make by son and daughters tough in every way. As teachers choose to stop recess because tag turns into slapping and pushing that might "hurt" the kids and make them violent, I choose to push my kids down, wrestle with them and allow them to push and wrestle with me in return. I saw this video today and found it refreshing. Thought I would share with all you men and dads out there. Hell, I might even let my kids ride a bike without.........sigh.........a helmet. (Just kidding, lets not go overboard here.):biglaugh:
Teach them to be tough and honorable men and women.
Enjoy.

I spring some really big hikes on the kids and xo sometimes. If they are crying we didn't go far enough.

Hahaha I just saw previews for a new TV show called THE SLAP. Apparently the whole premise is based on one adult slapping a child because of some interaction on the playground and the horrible repercussions that follow(no doubt the adult will be facing charges upto attempted homocide??? and the child will be in theropy for years??? and of course the PTSD that all the witnesses will have to endure till they finally pass from their grief)
What amazes me is that some BS like that would even be considered for TV; but I just learned from the Super Bowl Commercials that its not nice to say "_____ like a girl"....(Wow 4.5 million dollars to say "nanny nanny boo boo" hurts feelings)

I stopped wrestling with my two sons and daughter when I had to start using wrist/elbow locks and other aggressive restraint methods to prevent my being damaged. Be careful what you teach your kids. At least keep a few techniques classified to use against them when roughhousing.

My son (soon to be 5) and daughter (10) recently started Tae Kwan Do and they love it (especially my boy). I received this year's Spyderco catalog in the mail today and my son was happier than a pig in S*** looking
through the pages with me. A little rough housing doesnt hurt anyone.

My son gives me a hug when I get home home from work and sometimes follows it up with a training knife to my kidney. A year ago we were playing around and he broke my pinky. He was worried for a second until he saw that I was happy he had it in him. Working on clearing the house with nerf guns now. Fun stuff.

There is my last character building exercise. The rewards are worth the effort. I don't know how to fix the pictures so you will have to turn your head sideways.

Slug Bug!
Played this with my daughter since she was old enough to comprehend the concept.
#1, teaches her observation skills.
#2, teaches her how to hit.
#3, teaches her how to take a hit.
She is 16 now, and can pack a powerful punch.

I couldn't figure out as a kid why my dad would knock me down in the front yard until I was angry...makes sense now.

I have six kids 10 at the oldest 2 for the youngest. They love to wrestle and fight. I will get on my hands and knees and they have to try and flip me over. The older ones learn to work together real quick and the younger ones just jump all over me and everyone else.
Hands down though the best toys we ever bought...http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/29/feb4912ac855549ede8f811dc67a74be.jpg
They all have one, mine is the red one lol. They know that if they see it clipped to my belt the better get theirs and be ready. Some pretty epic battles take place.

My favorite times during open mat at my BJJ school is rolling with my own kids letting them beat me up, and beating up on them as well. We have a pretty extensive Nerf arsenal at our house, and play with them often. I have not worked on 'clearing' exercises with them yet, but that's a great idea...will do that soon!
Here's a pic of my son with his newest birthday present...it's ALL he wanted...how could I say no???
(twin 25 round drums, twin reciprocating barrels, full auto, tripod, FUN, FUN, FUN!!!)

My 8 year old daughter and my girlfriend's 7 year old son know how to make fire with a knife and ferro rod. All the way from wood selection to maintaining the flame. They train Krav and SPEAR with me all the time. Sometimes I get ambushed in the store. Kinda surprised the cops haven't been called yet. But they love it and know that they NEVER use it to be a bully. They hunt zombies from their base camp...a portable hunting blind. Throw tomahawks and knives. Pretty sure the neighbors think we are crazy...
