Ok so I run a reverse-engineering and fabrication business and that gives me access to 3D CAD design tools and a CNC machine that can work with any commercially available materials, so I have been sitting around thinking how can I make more money and it occurred to me that I can make just about anything I want from scratch.

So my question for the tribe is; if you could get something custom made for you (sorry no weapons) what would it be?

Or what product would you like to see produced that no one is currently making?

If I get some good ideas here I will be happy to share the profits on this venture with the one who came up with the product.

Would you consider weapons components?

Yes components are fine.

do you, by any chance, have access to Autodesk Inventor? Separately, do you have any experience making molds for injection molding?

These are things I have been looking for and the available options are either incredibly hard to source or are of poo-poo quality, and Gabe doesn't handle them:

A mag well adapter to accept 9mm Glock mags for AR's.

Extended safety levers for SIG 556R.

Milling front and top serrations in Glock slides for one hand manipulations and press checks.

Threaded barrels for the Glock 26, since TSD doesn't do them.

Need more?!?!?!

Yep Inventor is my go-to for design and I have the capability to create molds.

The mag well adapter and the safety levers are good ideas, I will look into that but I can't do barrels or slide milling.

The sticky wicket on the magwell adapter will be figuring out how to make the mag release work...

Titanium quad rails on a Tier One M4 would be pretty Bon Vivant. Pretty sure I couldn't afford one though.

I like your style.

Won't a G19 barrel work in a G26 slide?

I don't know, maybe...would the extra length plus the suppressor interfere with the slide cycle?

Thats what the Nielsen device is for. Or go with an Abraxas.

I would think it would not be too much rocket science to take a G19 barrel and cut/thread it to the proper length...

Also...a Glock Happy Stick conversion for AR15 lowers is a great idea...Housetrl you and I are on the same sheet o' music...

My crummy idea:

There are many 1 inch bevel flashlights out there. The head of the flashlight, including LED, cone, and glass/plastic lens, usually can be unscrewed from the body of the flashlight.

I think it would be swell to design a short body that holds 1 or 2 CR123 batteries and can be mounted on Picatinny rail.

The front of said short body would be threaded for the removable flashlight head.

You could design one short body and different models with threads fitting various Surefire, Streamlight, etc...models.

Effectively, people who already own a Surefire G2 or 6P, etc... could just buy this mountable body, unscrew the head of their flashlight, attach to the mountable body, and have a light they can mount on a pistol.

My idea has always been a Glock mag extension for a happy stick or a "glad" stick that has a clip similar to a pocket knife for easy, discrete IWB or pocket carry.

That is a pretty neat idea right there.

I have a pair of jeans that have the small cargo pocket about mid thigh level...the inside bottom has been opened up and a piece of materail sewn in to extend the pocket...a Happy Stick slides almost all the way in...just the top inch or so sticking out...if I can talk the daughter into it I'm gonna have her make all of them like that...

Thank you :) I sadly do not have the time or abilities to make them, but I can think of it and market the hell out of it :)

Well, not a magazine itself, but google snagmag for a pocket mag pouch with a pocket clip to simulate the ubiquitous folding knife. Just saw this on FB yesterday.

I think this is a good idea but the cost may not be inline with what the market would want, I will have to make some designs up and see what the cost per unit would be.

Good idea but you would need some sort of cap for the top so you don't loose ammo or get crap stuck up into the magazine.

I had that thought, but feel it would be best used IWB versus in the pocket and in my experience the rounds in a fully loaded happy stick are under enough spring pressure to stay in there really well lol. As far as a cover my first thought for it was a zac style cap that pulls free as you draw the magazine. Thoughts guys? Would you buy one?

There are a few people who already make this.

Even easier, just make a rail mount with a round hole (~.850" diameter) to hold whatever light the customer wants to use. You'll need some way to clamp the light to the mount, either set screws or, better, split the hole so it can be clamped down on the light.

I'd buy at least one.

Been thinking about something similar for awhile. I would like to get a prototype rolling.
