Airports are not know for their great dining opportunities, but that doesn't mean you should settle for McDonald's either! Please list your favorite airport restaurants here so the tribe will know where to go for good eats while travelling by air. I'll start...
ATL: Nature's Table Bistro. Located in Concourse E.
I like the Bistro Chicken with fruit salad, baklava dessert and a bottle of water. When I have a tight connection in Atlanta, I'll just get it to go.
MEX: Casa Avila Located in Terminal 2
Casa Avila is a Spanish-themed restaurant located inside Mexico City airport. If you are flying through Terminal 2, do NOT follow the signs for connecting flights, because you will miss this restaurant and be stuck eating at some fast food place. Instead, go to the luggage conveyors, walk out into the main hall, and look to your right. Everything I've tried there has been good. My favorite table lets me sit in a little nook, close to an outlet. If you ask, they will give you the network key.
AMS: The restaurant right after customs
I don't remember the name of it, but their kip sate (chicken sate) with extra kroepoek (pawn cracker) hit the spot.

Is there a restaurant in Charlotte airport that does not suck? If there is, please let me know.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop. I think the one I went to was in Chicago's Midway airport. Meatball sub with their hot pepper mix....astonishing. Truly a sandwich to write home about.
Fried calamari and Marinara sauce at PHL. The fresh pretzels are pretty good too.

BRU - STARBUCKS then the main terminal restaurant for breakfast waffles and omelet.
ROB - The restaurant outside always had cold Heineken and Becks and wicked grilled chicken.

I guess you all have better luck than me. I have eaten in airports all over the world, and have yet to eat anything that was better than adequate.
So what were your most adequate finds?

While not "all over the world", I have traveled some, and I say a big 'same here'.
I have ordered a steak at SLC, and Phoenix APs, and I was served a 'decent' meal at both, along with a steak knife to cut the food... this was post TSA, not that that has anything to do with food quality, or that I have ever taken anything I didn't pay for...

GASLIGHT CLUB
The Gaslight Club offers over 55 years of live music, fine dining and class. Come experience the privilege that was once offered only to the select few. Echoing the tradition of another era (the roaring 20s). The Gaslight Club offers the finest prime, aged steaks and chops, fresh seafood, hearty cocktails, and lively entertainment. Enjoy the finer pleasantries of life with our single malt scotch, bourbons, wines, port, and cognac served by our Gaslight Girls.
ORD (Chicago). This in the Airport complex( part of the Hilton hotel) and you can walk there so I am counting it. Anyway, great steaks and lovely ladies serving in "interesting costumes". First class operation, not a hooters type thing at all. I don't know how this place has stayed below the PC radar so long?

A Wendy's burger in Tegucigalpa International Airport (Honduras). After a week in the jungle, it was pretty awesome!
The fried chicken at McDonald's in Tegucigalpa is awesome.

Harry & Izzy's at Indianapolis International Airport: Excellent steaks.
Business Class Lounge buffets at Abu Dhabi International Airport (both the Etihad Airways one and the one for all other Bus. Class airlines) and Doha International Airport (Qatar Airways).

I don't remember the name of the place, but there is a little pub in the SLC airport that is worth a visit. They brew their own beer at their main location in the city, and the sandwiches are quite good.

There are a few options at the end of the concourse in the international terminal (walk past the Starbucks on your left and keep going another few hundred yards). Nothing I would call gourmet, but you can get a decent (if overpriced) sit-down meal before your flight. Probably a bit out of the way if you're flying domestic though.

If I've got a layover or can arrive early enough in Atlanta I cannot resist stopping by Popeyes Fried Chicken...or Krystals for a handful of sliders...
Denver has a kiosk that serves the best damned breakfast burrito on the planet...PERIOD...
Ditto on Legal at Logan...
And if you got enough skymiles its hard to beat free drinks and snacks at a Delta Sky Lounge...

This topic is my wheelhouse.
Continuing CaptBeach's Delta Sky Lounge, the best ones I have been to are at Charles-de-gaulle (CDG) operated by Air France, they set out about 5 wines to try out and I hope you are lucky enough to arrive or depart on Champagne day.
New Orleans (MSY) - Dooky Chase in the terminal was excellent, I have not been in awhile, but should still be good.
San Deigo (SAN) - Off site, but not by much at all is C Level... the food is awesome and the view might be better, especially is the Reagan is in for a stay.
Denver (DEN) - Denver Chophouse, barely makes my list.
Memphis (MEM) - If you like BBQ... just pick one.

in Atlanta I cannot resist stopping by Popeyes Fried Chicken. While it certainly doesn't qualify as high-brow Bon Vivant living, I still have enough ATL thug in me to enjoy some Popeye's fried chicken, biscuits, and a Fanta Strawberry.
I can't think of a single memorable meal in an airport, though.

Most of the food in class B airports suck in the U.S. But to open the discussion for those that fly to the $200 hamburger many of the class C and D airports have great food. If any of the tribe passes through Pennsylvania some of my favorites are:
DeNunzio's @ Arnold Palmer Regional (LBE). Great Northern Italian, excellent veal, chops, and steaks.
Primo Barone's @ Franklin Regional (FKL). Very good sea food and Italian.
Ali Baba @ Hart Field, Morgantown, WV (MGW). Some of the best lamb and middle-eastern food around.

Okay, you asked for it. Granny's at Carroll county airport. Only small planes 1runway with high tension power libes at one end. Homemade pies, rhubard, peanut butter. Anytime i was flying east i had to fill my backseat snd cargo hold with pie ordes. The menu is super family owned and everything made to order.

Never ate at Granny's but I remember flying the wife th the Blue Bird over the hill from Carroll Co. Airport. She loved that place. I think I had a tasty buffalo burger there.
Also, I used to fly into Burke Lakefront in Cleveland for Hornblower's Restaurant. What a shame that they shut down. Food was Ok but the atmosphere was great sitting on a barge on Lake Erie.

Hornblowers was good. I don.'t know if it's still there. Port Columbus had a great place, Dock Street. You could taxi up to the door, park, eat. You could look right over runways and taxi ways. Your bird would be gassrs and ready to go when you finished. Oy problem i couldn't try any of the adult beverages.... oh well flying wasnworth it.

Another great place is the Sky Gallery @ Cincinnati's old municipal airpost Lunkin Field (LUK). Good food but also in a historic old art deco terminal. Mostly executive, charter, and private traffic there. I love those old art deco terminals of the late 20's and early 30's. You can just feel the aviation history. A couple other great old fields are Allegheny Co. in Pittsburgh (ACG) and Wheeling-Ohio Co. in Wheeling, WV. Both are old historic art deco fields but neither have restaurants.

Amen, my aunt and uncle. The same reason i'm here. They taught me how to shoot and took me to shooting courses, martial arts course etc. The only people in my family who would have done so. Led me onto this path and some great friendships.
It was amazing, the fuselage actually flexed. Got to move the turrets etc, look down the norden bombsight in flight. Won't ever forget it.
