Well guys, I'm two weeks away from leaving employment status at the business I started. I know many of you have followed the story and have encouraged me on my journey so I wanted to keep you all updated.

I'm going to remain a shareholder and on the board of directors, but will be leaving my executive post as we're transitioning to a new CEO.

It's all good stuff happening, not a hostile or negative situation, and I'm really happy about how it's all working out.

Long story short: our angel investor who has funded the company's launch has been a mentor and friend to me and our current CEO recently had his primary business purchased by a large public company, and he suddenly found himself with time to help us in a more hands-on way operationally. He made us an extremely generous offer to come here and become CEO and work for free and take the company to the next level. He's got an incredible track record and has taken two companies public before and I'm very happy with what I've accomplished in less than 2 years, and handing it off to him.

SO, I'm about to have 70 hours a week freed up, but still remain an owner of a company that's going to be even more valuable with him at the helm, and I've got enough cash in hand that I've got a little time to figure out what I'm doing next...

For now I'm just making the transition as smooth as possible for the new leadership, and looking forward to taking a small break and spending a little more time with my wife and kids. I'm also dusting off old business plans and entertaining ideas of where I'm going next in life. I'm 90% sure I will be doing another startup before long, but I'm open to anything and excited about the future. I'll keep you guys posted as things develop.

Great job! You should start a new thread and highlight the lessons you've learned in this process. I would particularly like to hear how, knowing what you now know, you will approach your next start up.
Onward and Upward!

Yes I will be doing some of this. I'm going to up my writing/blogging and really focus on entrepreneurship in the near future and am happy to share any insights I've picked up. I know I've gotten way more from this board than I can put in, but I will try and contribute how I can.

Nice move Clint. You figured out the equation and allowing someone to take the organization to the next step is smart. My advice in having been there is to take some time off, enjoy life and jump back in the next venture after that.... you will know when !
