Flat black Aston Martin, anyone? Saw some good stuff at the auto show last week. Updating goals. What are yours?

Lexus LX570. Not the flashiest thing on the road, but one hell of a ride, and built on Land Cruiser DNA.

I want a first gen bronco pretty bad. Not as expensive as the Aston Martin but it's what I want.

Saw a Pagani Zonda C8 today. But no thank you. I am too OCD to own a nice car.

I would say a Porsche Cayman S. That way if I total it on the track, I can afford a second one  My current goal is a BRZ.

There's alot of wisdom in that post. When we upgraded my wife to her new BMW we agreed to make a conscious effort to *keep* it in top, showroom condition.

Yes it's nice- and she deserves a premium car. But being a bit OCD myself I can say truthfully that; things you own-end up owning you.

Both daughters are nearing driving age. Eldest brat will inherit my rolling sniper hide ('98 Ford Expedition - I'll help her with gas a little).

My next car.... We'll see. The Lexus IS F is interesting as is the 350IS (w/ the bonus of not being a !%@#!@% fortune) or a Nisan Skyline, I mean GTR. However, it's more likely I'll go redneck and either restore an old Ford Bronco or a Ford Econoline van setup to haul my track bike inside along with track side camping.

GTR is a sweet car but it is a Nissan and their cars have no feel. It is like driving a simulation.

I would do the IS F, it is nice. For that price range, you could get a BMW 1M for a teeny bit more...

If I lived some place with decent roads, I'd buy a BMW 7 series. But since all the roads around here have ruts in them, a pick-up truck is the way to go. And I'll probably still usually want a truck anyway. I'd just roll the BMW out on days that I felt like going fast.

I drive a 2010 Audi A4 S Line. A step beyond that would be the RS 4. In the dream category, even if I had all the money in the world, I would still get a Porsche GT2 RS.

Keep calm and return fire...

Dream car...way too many to list. Really. Zonda, Spyker, Hennessey, Bugatti, Koenigsegg. And it would be unChristian to leave out the 250 Testarossa, 250 GT SWB, 250 GT Lusso, 365GTB4 Spyder...etc, etc.

But on the medschool-is-over-OMG-is-it-really-happening front, the wife is a year out from getting the new LX570....we beat the LX470 to death...time to start over this time with ASI's Invader LX....0-60 in less than 5...WOOT!

29944

After the LX, the hammer drops on the following...an old 612 Scaglietti when I haul the kids:

29945

.......and a F430 for work.

29947

After that the rest is academic. There is no substitute for the gloriously imperfect Ferrari...but a Maserati Gran Turismo wouldn't hurt :)

Poke, you're right about the high line car curse...a guy nearby has the new Reventon and the new McLaren...scared of every scratch. I'm the opposite. Redline daily, tires chirping daily...the Ferrari mechanic is gonna love me:). We only live once.

I'm honor and duty bound to flog the crap out of the incoming Ferraris. If those cars are still mint after ten years, I failed to live life to the fullest.

And before I die...this:
250 GT California Spyder LWB

29948

My word...what a beautiful car....
Of course my name is Base Bleed (Ferrari's FXX aero technology adapted from artillery shells)....so, naturally my grail is a Ferrari...I'm pretty sure God drives one.

I used to want a 68 or 69 Corvette, 427 4 speed, but they don't fit me. One of my buddies has an 82 Corvette and recently bought 2006 Z06 Corvette. I can't get into the 82, even with the seat all the way back there is not enough leg room on the passenger side (don't know about the driver's side) for me to get my legs under the dash and not enough room between the seat and the dash if I try to keep my knees up.

In the Z06 I can get in the passenger side but I have to lay my right arm across my chest as there is not enough room for it to hang beside my ribs/chest and I have to tilt the seat back in order to get my knees room enough to ride up on the dash to clear my legs/knees.

So, no old (or new) corvette for me. I bought a different car, new, and it has more room in it for me than anything I own/drive except my 1/2 Chevy truck. It also runs/handles/stops like you wouldn't believe for what it is - a 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

I love cars but for the most part, I would not own an exotic. Dream cars for me are things like early 70s Hemi Cudas, 1970 AMXes, Boss 9 Mustangs, etc.

Every version of the Pontiac GTO ever made would work just fine for me. That and a Ford Raptor.

I find many different cars of many different types to be attractive for different reasons. But if I had to make a list quickly off the top of my head.....

56 Corvette
67 GTO
68 Camaro
74 Landcruiser (maybe not bon vivant, but I love them)

As far as exotics I've always loved the Saleen S7.
I think the Ford GT is a sheet metal goddess as well as the Maserati Quattroporte.

Maybe my tastes are a little eclectic.

Now there is a Shelby Raptor, even more want! What's really cool for me is I designed machines for the Raptor (body part processing). I also did stuff for the 2014 Corvettes (oh yeah, more than one version too....).

I have a buddy that all into them. Him and his son both bought one and are always trying to out do the other with mods. They are big cars, but they are defineltly nice and they epitome of foreign manufacturing. To be honest I would rather own a 7 series over a Ferrari, just because its a better vehicle.

My family has a long history of having new Cadillacs every couple of years. Really digging the new 2014 CTS, it's moved up to the #1 spot for goal car.

My wife loves the current suburban in Diamond White. I'll buy her one of those before the CTS. However the Suburban maybe getting a refresh and if its like the new escalade that may be a strong contender for the garage.

My dream car is any classic Mustang from '64-1/2 to '72, and preferably some shade of red, and automatic transmission. No real preference between straight-6 or V8, slightly partial toward ragtop over hardtop. My previously owned 'Stang, which I unfortunately had to sell back in summer 2006 due to money crunch, was a candy-apple red '67 straight-6 200 hardtop automatic.

My moms first car was a 64 1/2 convertible... and my dad had 2-3 67 vette stingrays, at the same time, for his first cars.

I've always wanted a Hummer wagon ever since I saw my first one. Haven't gotten that one yet but I did get my Excursion that I've always admired. I just like huge trucks lol. I think it would be fun to get a deuce and a half to drive around just to be obnoxious lol.

Yes indeed.

I own and daily drive a Mazda Miata and love it. Great handling is something I have always desired in a car, and the Miata has it in spades. It is also very cheap to drive, dependable, quick, and I got 32 mpg on my road trip last week.

I probably would never own a true exotic, but my dream car would be a Porsche Cayman S. I think they are practical enough for a daily drive, dependable, handle very well, fast enough, but not crazy expensive.
