Ok, first I will state the obvious. Idiots are in abundance.

I wanted a G30SF because my only .45ACP Glock is my TSD G21SF and I wanted a back up for it. I go to gunbroker and there is ONE page of G30's...ONE.

2 pistols have a "Buy Now" price of $635 and one is no reserve. The no reserve has about 5hrs left and is at about 530.00 I put in a couple bids and the action starts. I put in a max of 620.00 hey 15.00 is 15.00

The no reserve sold for 745.00!!! With 2 "Buy Now's" at 635.00??????????

There has to be a book here or something???? "Gunbroker for Idiots"?????

So stupid I just had to share. I'm Sam and I'm a Glock addict.......Thanks

Thanks GM...there is one guarantee in life. If I buy something yesterday it will be cheaper today. Now there are a few with buy now in the 5's,came on today and yes they are doing it again. One is up over the buy nows with time left. Its like watching moron reality tv......I gotta step away before I slip again. Ready to cost average....

I think people get caught up in the bidding. I never figured out why they just didn't "buy it now" at a cheaper price, but will overbid it as well!

Gunbroker isn't too bad though, I sold off my LWRC rifle for $1000 profit, and sold off all my 5.56 ammo at ridiculous panic prices from bidders. In the end, basically for every 400 rounds of 5.56 I sold I replaced it with 1000 rounds of 7.62x39! I also picked up a couple new AK's as well. I'm waiting for one to arrive before I post some pics! Now is the time to sell high for all the stuff you don't need, and wait for prices to come down to buy.

wait for prices to come down to buy.

Don't hold your breath waiting.

GB is someplace I will not buy anything. God know what some toothless hobo swamp dweller has done to that gun before you pay for it. When used guns cost as much or more than new guns, buying a used gun from someone you don't know is as stupid as voting for Obama.

I'm not worried about the prices coming down, but I can afford to wait. Prices never determined what I bought anyway. The demand for guns and ammunition (and not being able to find any) didn't affect me much (...of course there is always something else I need).

There are a lot of others that are depending on the prices coming down, because they completely missed the boat. I wouldn't pay extremely inflated GB prices, but some stuff you will pay a premium for, only because some people slacked off and didn't plan ahead. Basic supply and demand. I see more guys complaining about prices, who have obviously never heard of the story of "The Grasshopper and the Ants." For me, I bought low and sold high during this mess. It's all about upgrading. If I didn't have anything, I would get off my rear end and buy a rifle/mags/ammo. I know a lot of guys that were cheap, and now they are scrambling to buy anything they can find.

You do have to know what you are buying on Gunbroker, there are a lot of scammers that are selling to the uneducated masses there. I've had good luck so far, but then again I'm buying NIB stuff anyway.

Sam, sorry you missed out on the Glock. The one thing I've learned every time there is draconian gun legislation that might be passed, if you see something you want... just buy it. If it's a price you're willing to pay, and you wait, someone else is going to get it. Don't let $15 be the deciding factor. If there were 10 pages of Glocks, then you can price shop.

I had a friend that I would let know when ammo was for sale at different online ammo distributors during this panic. He dragged his rear-end, was trying to do price comparisons (nobody else has anything for sale?) and missed out each time. He's got an AR, and probably about 400 rounds total to go with it. The Glock demand is pretty great. I get my Glocks from probably one of the largest east-coast distributors (police supply), and they don't have any in stock. The usually have hundreds of Glocks in inventory, and don't have any and don't know when their next order is coming in. Good luck!

R4, I got the G30 for 635.00 NIB w/ 2 mags. I also don't buy used guns on gunbroker. No one around here has any Glocks and I thought the price was ok??? But hey I wanted it so who cares...should be here tomorrow. I just couldn't believe that a guy paid 745 when he could have hit buy now...for 635 :dunno:

Nice, glad you got one. Yeah, I haven't been able to figure out the bidders as well. My wife sells some stuff on ebay that she makes (children's hair bows) and has duplicates of, and has a "buy it now price." So the bidders will bid it up to double the price or more, when they could have just bought it without bidding at all, for the cheaper price? :hypnotized: It makes no sense.

Just some thoughts on auctions WTF is the point of an auction if you set the RESERVE way above your starting price??? I have NO problem with somebody determining the price he wants for his property; but in effect saying, "I wanna sell this BUT I wont tell you for how much..." is at the very least childish!

Even more frustrating are the auctions that have "best offer"; but its really not a best offer--Its the best offer over what I will accept...

Exactly. I have no problem with auction sites but mysterious reserve prices on top of low starting bids just waste my time.

In a minute and a PTR and would announce date/time...and an UZI but all are non-compliant in my commie state. Nothing makes me crazier than when the "In Stock at OST" goes up and I CAN'T buy it. Actually looking to re-locate...TX, Tenn, Fla and Az are on the list. Sorry bro.....

I don't miss the frustration created by buying from auction sites. Not worth it, especially when you can get the right weapon at the right price from OST. I have bought most of my weapons face to face and truly this is for me the best way. But if I needed one and Gabe had it, it would not bother me in the least to buy from his company.
