I've got an interesting trip coming up, and I started wondering about the strange and distant lands that some of you guys have roamed. We've got a thread on "random" photos, but not for travel photos in particular. I'll be interested to see what you guys come up with. I'll kick it off with a not very warrior-like shot from a recent trip to the Big Island. My wife and I found the perfect little secluded spot, just north of Kona. There was even a shade tree to save our delicate Alaskan skin, while we kicked back and read with our toes in the sand.

One of my most memorable trips was to Yosemite Valley in '96 with my longtime climbing partner and good friend Jimmy Ray Forrester (http://www.friendsofforester.com/), RIP brother.
We had almost gotten smoked on "The Nose" the previous year due to an un-seasonal heat wave and running out of water. So this time we decided to go late in the season, in retrospect, maybe a little too late.
Love a morning view with plenty of exposure.

Setting up the portaledge higher up on the route.

Then, the weather changed. Nasty traverse in the wet sleet.
29337
The next day and colder still. Ice getting into all the gear.
29338
Next day, finally a break, but still some falling ice.

The push for the top.

Colombianito,
You're younger picture looks exactly like my brother. Just you're taller and not as jacked up. I mean you could be my brothers twin otherwise.
