I’ve been a customer of Bill Penzey (www.penzeys.com (http://www.penzeys.com/)) since his humble beginnings in suburban Milwaukee years ago. My brother was working as a chef in Milwaukee at the time and he turned me on to the business. In those early days, my spices were all delivered to me from Penzeys via the mail (from orders I sent through the mail!) Now I can walk into a store fairly close to my home or order online. I am delighted to see that he has so many stores across the country today!
Bill sells the full gamut of spices, prepared the way they are meant to be prepared. He teaches you online how to best store the spices to maintain their full flavor and extend their life. He sells a wide variety of peppercorns and the mills to grind them fresh. He sells more varieties of cinnamon than I knew even existed. And each variety imparts its own unique flavor. His freeze dried veggies make it quite simple to put peppers and onions into your omlets.
He has a nice assortment of gift sets available, we usually give one of these as a wedding gift. He has a broad variety of recipes he has gathered from his customers over the years, also, available online. I found my favorite chili recipe from Bill’s site, Good Basic Chili (http://www.penzeys.com/cgi-bin/penzeys/recipes/r-penzeyschili.html).
A great company striving to provide the best spices available today. I highly recommend you give them a try! You will be surprised how good the food you cook can actually taste when using first class spices!
